I know what you mean, I love my Lincoln but my new wife and I need a house. So for now I'm selling my VTX motorcycle, my rifle and some other odds and ends to qualify with a big enough down payment.

I'm still contemplating selling all the Lincoln goodies; I would if the right price came around. I would love to have yours but I promised the wife before she was deployed that I wouldn't buy any more cars while she was gone

If you sell two you can buy one she would never have to know and stop buying
boats

i like them, i just dont see why people arent allowed to sell them without getting all kinds of grief over the sale. like i said, its a mark VIII they come and go, like everything thing else. and i still like them, im just sick of owning them. once these two i have are gone, i'm done, unless i come across a cordovan 98 C.E with graphite interior, it will be my final mark VIII, if i never find one, i'll never own another one most likely, its the only one i havent had, i have had almost every color, every year, even a diamond anniversary 96 and a spring feature 98, so the cordovan C.E is the only thing left i havent had that i really love.

after taking apart god knows how many mark 8's I understand where Jamie might grow to not like the cars very much.

They are fun and rewarding to drive, when they work right.. when they dont, they are a PITA to fix sometimes.

yea..shuddup Jamie!

Posted by: devilchild

i did search for a long long time,... which is why i dont want to get rid of it...

and i understand where Jamie is coming from... if he took apart and fixed Rx-7's all day long im sure he'd get sick of fixing them too..

im already sick of searching for parts for mine.. which is why i started stockpiling extras...

but not even Jamie could get sick of the look or the feel of a Mark VIII..

chicken, i searched for 8 years for this car,

this car was my dream car, and i had it all the way i wanted it, and was forced to sell it. once this car drove away, thats when my lincoln love went south. the 2 cars i have now in my eyes suck compared to my 98, i miss the car so much but it was either live out of it, or sell it and have a house. selling that car hurt, it was the nicest car i ever owned and the only car i put as much money and time into just to watch it leave. so thats why i feel the way i do now, i still like them i just cant replace the 98 so i dont want any marks now.

Your 98 looks almost exactly like mine Jaimie. 46,000 miles on mine to boot. Anyhow I am pretty made that devil is selling his right now. I saw his on here and promised myself I would buy it when he sells it. Not even 2 weeks after I get my 98 his goes up for sale...

Posted by: Staffamerica74

Why dont you find your beloved 98 and buy it back Jamie?

Posted by: GMAN

You know, I have to tell you everyone would be miserable if they sold their Marks. I sold my 93, but not before I bought my 97. Having two Marks for me was out of the question. I really wanted my Gen 2. Now here I was thinking of selling the Gen 2 and getting totally out of Marks. With gas prices being like they are, I know everyone is feeling the pinch in one way or another. Selling the Mark is not going to command an outrageous price that will make you smile . So we might as well drive them and enjoy them. I fell in love with the Marks ever since I saw that commercial with the automatically lowering suspension. Being a father with two young kids it just wasn't practical. Now that I am older, and my kids are grown, I can enjoy them. Hell my son even owned and likes the Marks. I say keep your Marks. We're going to have to drive something, it may as well be a Mark.

Don't sell it Jim!! Are you nuts? Too much of a hunt.

because i'm in florida, the car is in kansas city, a young kid bought it off me and its already been through one bad hail storm. i wouldnt even be able to look at the car now, no thanks, plus i couldnt afford another one right now anyway, and like i said earlier, the only other mark i will ever consider buying in the future is a cordovan 98 collector edition, its the only mark i havent had yet!

I just saw one a couple of weeks ago, less than 50,000 miles. The guy knew what he had just bought. Mines no C.E. but it is what it is. Another red lincoln that hasn`t been driven a thousand miles yet this year.
