it was easy... not worth it to pay any shop for 4 hours to do this... I completed it in 2 and a half... next week i will replace the coils and plugs... missfire has already start to go away...
after coil and plugs will come the SCT programmer

I'm a fairly skilled shade tree mechanic, having been at it for many years. Besides always worked with my hands in the trades.
Anyway,I did my 01 LS V-8 , valve cover gaskets ,seals, plugs ,and all new coils about three weeks ago. Took me three hours for the right side and over seven hours for the drivers side. The parts manager at the Lincoln dealer where I bought the parts (online) said they get eight hours for the left side and four for the right. I had to speak to him by phone the following week to order a new drivers seat track with motors ( over$300-ouch).Seat wouldn't move up and back and you can't buy the motors separately. So with my own labor I spent about $800 in two weeks. I hate to think what the two jobs would have cost at a stealership
How did you do it in two and a half hours total??
BTW: The LS faster and smoother than ever!

I dont know... it was really easy for me i guess... did the passenger side in 45 minutes... driver side was the hardest.. I guess i had all the right tools and a program called alldata that told me what sequence to take everything off in...
all i did was the VCG... and noticed a big difference... next week I will be doing new coils and plugs once i know its not leaking anymore...

I did both sides in about 3 hours. Even took a break to snap some pics. I have made it a habit to move anything that I even think might get in my way when I work on something. And it always makes it easier.
So both the fan fluid and power steering reservoir got loosened up and pushed off out of the way as far as I could get them without disconnecting the hoses, and I also disconnected the fuel return line that loops over the drivers side valve cover, as well as the many vacuum hoses on that side, and I moved the vacuum solenoids that mount to the drivers strut tower.
And I did the drivers side first. If you did the easy part first and thought THAT was hard then you didn't have anything to look forward to.
