Soo... Long story short Advancetrac is great but not thaat amazing. I was driving on the interstate when almost instantly started raining monsoon style. I Rain X'd the windshield so I could see totally fine with the wipers on but I tapped the brakes to slow down from about 75 and the back end slid around and I slammed into a concrete divider. Not much else to say. I'm pretty heart broken about it. Just got the front end fixed with new ball joints, struts and alignment. I came out with a punctured lung but not a single bruise.

That's sucks, dude, but it's just a car...you'll find another. Glad you're ok for the most part!!

Posted by: nightriddah

damn!!! keep ur head up man. there will be other cars.

Posted by: pektel

Wow... a black LS would look SWEET with all clear tail lights!

Glad to hear you're okay, man. Sucks about the car. There's that other member on here selling his silver LS with LSE kit.

There was a semi truck up in front of me in the right lane swirving and he came in my lane maybe half car in front of me so I hit the brake with a moderate pressure and went from there. The truck kept going of course..

Pour down rain + braking + turn (even slightly) = Hydroplane. Ive done it several times in my LS, never had it go completely around though. But I wasn't going 75 either.

Sucks about the car, glad to hear you're doing OK.

Glad to hear you are okay, which is the more important thing.

It could have been much worse. Just glad to hear your ok. Overall kind of impressive that our cars are that solid at a 75mph collision.

Posted by: Garbone

Wow.
I must say the passenger compartment is nicely intact, by the pics. Thats part of why this car has a 5* crash rating...Hope you feel better!

I don't believe Advancetrac has anything to do with braking. It's only going to control the car when you are accelerating. I know I can do all sorts of things in the snow with the Advancetrac on, as long as I'm not into the gas.

You're thinking of the basic traction control. Advancetrac is a more sophisticated system which works with the brakes and ABS sensors to help you keep control of the car in turns and on slick roads. But it doesn't do any good if you have no traction at all. It can't overcome physics.

Yea true story. Thanks for all the comments everyone! After everything I think I'm gonna come out on top with more money back then what I put down because of the refund on my extended warranty. I'm in the market for a new ride of course so if anyone spots anything interesting, hit me up!

ya dude...i hate drivin next too or near a semi...an i will say that the LS does slide pretty easy in the rain...maybe its just my tires but i can kick the back end out with ease when its wet takin turns...sometimes i dont even try too an it does :/

Posted by: King03LS8

Glad you are ok for such a bad wreck.

Are you parting anything out? Maybe someone needs something on here, you never know.
