Air?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

My air has been acting funny the past few days and I am not sure the cause.

Under very minimal accerleration the air is shutting off and venting out the top. You that thing it normaly does when you go full throttle (don't know what it's called).

My question is, Why is it doing this? Im not sure where to start looking. The car does not feel under powered or anything. I have noticed my radio lights flickering the past couple days, could it be something electrical?

Any help is appreciated.

I would think a vacuum leak, but nothing major yet. Under any RPM climb you start to loose vacuum.

I think there is one line right near the heater core along the firewall. Black if I recall. Mine snapped once. I would suggest starting there first.

+1, if there is no vac signal it just defaults to the defrost vents

Thanks guys, Is it carb cleaner you spray over the engine to find vacum leaks?

I think Carb cleaner can remove paint and such. I always used starting fluid, seems to be ok.

But check all the lines first, especially the "T" fitting at the intake manifold.

wd-40 also works

carb and brake cleaner will make the motor slow down.
wd-40 and starting fluid will make the motor speed up
