And what does this do?

Not even sure if this is for 4.6 or 5.0, but what is an intake extension for?

Posted by: crownvicjim

cooler temps? i dunno. smoother air? weird.

Posted by: shiryu0

velocity stack

which wouldnt do much in a car with the intake coming in sideways............

Posted by: Rich88LSC

Hard to tell for sure from the angle if it's round or oval. Round it's probably for a tbird/94-95 stang 5.0.

Posted by: unity

Its oval.

"This is an intake plenum for 03-04 cobras to be used with a single blade throttle body."

So it must be for 4.6L.

Hm.... Well I know a single blade TB would require a tune or dyno.

Just wondering what could be gained by such and install? Even if its just a little.

Posted by: bryantaylor

it *might* make a tad more torque due to adding lenght to the runners, but nothing that you will notice on the butt dyno. it looks like its just for a bigger throttle body. from the pic it looks like it has a "funnel" effect, like it tapers in, for a WAY bigger TB than the stock intake mani flange will allow.

Posted by: unity

Ah, that makes sense. Sorta like a ram air effect.. sorta...

Posted by: m_maker

It's a stock piece that bolts up the eaton blower to move the TB away from the blower. It won't bolt up to anything else, and why in the earth would you want to anyway.

Posted by: unity

Thats why I was asking what it was/does/is. I see these from time to time so I had to ask!
