I am trying to remove the chrome (stainless) window trim (side glass) on a genI I am parting out. How does it come off. I do not want to damage it as I want to re-use it.
Thanks

i just pulled it off by prying it up? I guess theres some little plastic piece on one end but i havnt seen it, i probably broke it.

the lowers are clipped in. so if you carefully use a door panel removal tool to pry them up moving slowly toward the mirror. just be careful not to break anything. Im not sure about the tops though.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Gen1 trim will work on the GenII cars. They measure just about exacly the same.

after my window was broken, my lower chrome strip that your trying to get off goes on but its like bent, or doesnt fit flush near the door handle even though all the clips are in and it stays on? Any ideas? Is that plastic clip is that near the side mirror or the door lock?

ok i was fiddling with this today because it wasn't fitting flush, i think it got bent by the thieves who broke in. If your removing it, there is a black plastic tab that goes in right underneeth the side mirror. So after you pop it up using a door trim removal tool - pull it to the left towards the rear of the car so you don't break the tab.
Theres also a black flat holder the on the other end of the by the lock that the end of the chrome trim wil be set in.
