Tranny question (previous recall?)

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

The tranny pan on my mark started leaking recently. I'm taking this as a perfect opportunity to j-mod. My question is, when I bought the car the previous owner told me it was taken in for transmission service as per a recall. What do they change in this recall? I'm assuming it may have the newer 1-2 accumulator and springs? Would anything else have been changed? I need to know so I know what parts to order. Thanks

There was no recall for the transmissions. He probably had it mixed up with a TSB and had the 1-2 accum done as you mentioned...

what he said

whats the difference between a TSB and a recall? if they know its gonna mess up the trans why not make it a recall?

there is a BIG difference. owners are notifed under the recall and it something that should be done ASAP. a TSB is just a "if this happens, do this" type of thing.

also most recalls are safety related, TSB is not.

exactly! and the owner most likely had it done under warranty and it would of been explained to the customer as if it was a recall

Thanks guys, so it looks like I'll be ordering everything except the 1-2 accumulator.
