Two-tone Paint

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Anybody have pics of a two-tone paint job? I am considering painting my car, and am looking for something to go off of. I like the idea of two-tone, just need to see it on a car first.

WOW........thanks for the links.....two -tone it will be. I will be sticking with a gray bottom, undecided on top color. I love orange...........don't know........thanks again for the links, keep them coming if anyone else has any.

Just be mindful of the lines you choose and the colors. Those guys did great jobs on their cars but you see the opinions of others too. 1st one has good color choice but the lower split line doesn't flow with the body as well as if he went more oldschool Cali style and dropped the line to the lower rear of the wheel well instead of at the top. The second is more traditional lines but more drastic with the metallic blue top coat, not everybodies favorite. Just my 2c. Its your car when its all said and done, so do what you like and take any critisisms lightly. Just don't turn it into that yellow thing! PS that nasty yellow cars front spoiler wouldn't look as bad if it were black. Did I just write that oh cr*p. Keep posting your ideas and everybody here will make sure you stay on the right track. Good luck.

Just saw the orange comment............there are some intense orange/copper metallics that look incredible. Even the darker ones are nice. More subtle, but when the light hits them........pow! Are you doing any pin striping to seperate the two colors?

I like various parts of each of the cars I have seen. The bottom will probably be the original gray, with the split being along the door handle line, with a pinstripe split. Basically the front of the gray blue car, and the rear of the gray/gray car. I say original gray as in color, not original paint.

i like chickenviii's car. i dont think its really two tone, but in the pic it almost looks like the bottom is a little darker silver. if i were to do a two tone, thats what i would do. follow those same body lines that are in this pic.(the shadow)

lol i just got confused as hell, "when did i post here?" lol, thanks but its just silver frost metallic and i dont know why the bottom looks darker, maybe cuz its so low probably a reflection of the ground
