My air suspension needs to be replaced and I am getting two new front air bags. I wanna tell my mech. to lower my car, so how much should I tell him to lower it on my 97 Mark VIII? what have you guys done? front and back....

Thanks

For how much he *might* charge you to lower it, you may want to do it yourself of pick up a module.

Honestly I dont know how much I originally lowered mine. I did the front until it looked good, then did the back. If I had to guess I would say 1.25 to 1.5 inches.

when i did mine, i only lowerd the front. i lowered each sensor a little less than an inch. and my end result was 1 3/8 to 1/3/4 inch lower. i dont know if this is typical, or if not. if this is the norm, it should be said that the distance you lower your sensor doesnt mean thats what the end result will be.

I wouldn't lower it more than 1 inch. It will lower more with weight in it. My 1.5 coversion sits really low. Makes bumpy roads a challenge.

thanks guys I will just do it 1 inch. Now another question, will it drop another inch when it on an hyw because the car lowers it self on the hyw? I would think so.

dont take it to a tech, susp is easy. when i sensor lowered mine, i just drilled a hole under where the stock on was and tried to match up the rear. probally lower 1.5 inch or so.
