Potenza RE960?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Anyone have a chance to try out Bridgestone Potenza RE960s?

I have used 950s and loved them a lot. The 960 is apparently a new one and 950 is not available in 18 inch.

My rep can get them for $180 each installed right now but he is waiting for his Bridgestone rep to do a better price for me. 18 inch tires are expensive!

Cool. Good read and very similar to the RE950s I ran before. They do not last long but I expect that. As for hyro-planing, well its a Mark with a lot more weight.

I'll see what price he can get me.

How about size? 18" X 7.5" rim set. 235/40/18? I want something tight. Maybe go 35?

Have/had them both, but on my 1999 Monte Carlo Z34.

The 950's I LOVED them! Kept them rotated and got 62k miles out of them. When new, they were like electo-magnets! At least compaired to the Goodyear GSA they replaced (those sucked big time).

Not so pleased with the 960's. Much more road noise and don't seem to stick like the 950's did. Wear seems OK, but I don't expect to get 62k out of them.

I've got Michelin MXV4 on the Mark. Not real impressed by those. I've been considering swapping the tires out between the Monte & the Mark and see if the Mark improves.

IMO 235/40s are perfect for that size wheel

If I could get 950s I would. I cant seen to locate them anywhere for the size I want. Even tirerack.com lists one ONE size available now, 195/65HR15.

If these make two years I will be happy. I have all new suspension now. Before I had old struts that tore up the front 950s bad. In the winter these will come off in place of the stock rims and some snow tires.

Thanks for your help guys.
