CEL "Intake Manifold Runner Control"

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

One day the car is running fine. Next day the Check Engine Light is on. Code says the IMRC is no good. Has anybody had this problem? Any solutions besides getting ripped off at the dealer?

First, and its a tight fit take your hand down the back corner of the intake feel for the cable that runs to the IMRC's, theres one fore both side once you find the cable end try to move the shaft, its spring loaded if it moves easily its probably the control box or cable if not and its hard to open you can try some sea foam but I doubt it will help, the IMRC's can get really gummed up. Its about a three hour job for a novice to remove the intake and clean them.
