I think this is the replacement for the LS.... sounds like a sweet car! Check it out and post what you think

Sorry I don't like it.

From the side and rear it resembles a Saturn or a newer Pontiac.

Posted by: CashmereLS

The front looks like a new Mitsu Galant. The rest is nice.

Posted by: daves2000ls

Glad to see its up at Lincoln's site. I remember when the LS was no longer there, sad day.

I think it kinda looks like a Lexus from the side. Headlights remind me of Acura. Definitely more Jap than Euro this time.

Posted by: steagle

personally i think its too tame a design. it looks like a Saturn from the back and a Pontiac from the front. there are definitely some nice touches, like the roof and the headlights and i'm sure the inside is nice... but it's got nothing on the LS in terms of lines and stance.

Posted by: NHLSV8

well the common folk think just because the zepher and MKZ are shaped similar its the replacement.... bout time Lincoln Comes out with something that will keep up with the Luxury SPORT way of life! and witha rumoured 315hp V8.... sounds like they are gunning for the 530-540 crowd still

I agree.... the LS is just GORGEOUS!!!!!!! I've been in love with these cars since the came out in 99! It's like a supermodel.... who fights MMA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Posted by: JWerner2

The LS has this very basic design. Its symmetry is simple and plain yet very perfect. Nothing fancy about it. Its straight forward and says I am a car not something from the future that accidentally wandered into a time machine.

For some reason that is what makes the look of the vehicle. The fact that it pulls off such a basic look so well!

Posted by: daves2000ls

I've loved the LS since the first time I saw one. I was a Junior in HS, it was one of the teacher's car. I swear when gas is obsolete I'm gonna put a fleshlight where the gas cap is

Posted by: pektel

I like the invisible keypad. I agree that the exterior pales in comparison to the LS. I like the interior though.

Posted by: AndrewCoja

I'd put the interior in my LS, but keep the LS.

*Yawn* Tell me when they come up with a V8.

Posted by: MMAFIGHTER121

fuglified. looks like a fusion with a hideous galant-esque face. all that chrome up front going vertical AND horizontal ... the side profile is that of a zit then mix in the skinny saturn aura taillights on that wayyy too tall ass and its just... ick. a luxo-sedan should have a classy powerful look to it.

what I saw was a 315hp V8

Posted by: MMAFIGHTER121

i know what it is now!! oh noes! the beemer bangle butt strikes domestic shores in lincoln dealerships everywhere!!

Posted by: Eric0508

I dont mind it so much. Its a start at least, and no matter how they styled the exterior, there would be people who hate it. I think the v8 combo with AWD is going to be killer. I think lincoln is on the right track here, nail the powertrain and interior, and the exterior will follow suit eventually.

Posted by: owlman

ehh, you don't have to look at the exterior while you're driving it anyway...

Posted by: MMAFIGHTER121

man... the more i look at it the less i like.. from some angles it even looks like a honda civic SI...

Posted by: JWerner2

I doubt the looks will get better.

The LS was directed toward a certain group of people. The LS now today has a totally different following than intended and the MKZ/Zephyr or what ever its called anymore has the following in which the LS was originaly intended for.

So since it appears that they are succeeding at that point I doubt the looks of the vehicles will change. They also fit along with all the other new model Lincolns on the market with the same distinctive looks.

Posted by: BEATZZ

Why does it only show 140mph on the dash, I guess i'm just used to seeing the big 160mph on the LS...LOL

Posted by: glanga

It looks nice but hopefully they won't cut corners and make it a cheaply made pos since Ford is cutting costs and corners to save $ every way they can now. They really can't skimp on the quality of this if they want to make some money and bring their prestige back and stop selling off all of their satellite car companies.

Posted by: 02V8Sport

One drove past me last Friday on the highway with manufacturer plates. It was pretty sharp in person.

Posted by: NHLSV8

ok so I gave her another look or two or three..... I like it! It's no LS, but she stands out from the MKZ and with that 315hp AWD... she'll haul!

Posted by: pagluy

It doesn't have much going for it. The rear really sucks. The front is just ok. The rear does really look like a Saturn, which is a damn shame because that Zephyr had such a nice rear end. (also they should have stuck with classic names for their cars like Zephyr, so much nicer than MKz) I hate the rear end taillights. The thing I always wanted the LS for most was the looks, all the luxury junk and power was just what the car came with.

But that website is pretty kick ass.

Posted by: JWerner2

Wtf?

I just think the name Zephyr has got to be the stupidest name for a car in this era.

But the site is bad ass.

Posted by: glanga

Yeah but it's different instead of going with a random jumble of numbers and letters. It seems like car companies are running out of names. I'd remember Zephyr over MKZ anyday of the week. Same goes for Seville over the "STS"

Posted by: JWerner2

American companies are competing in every way I guess. Over in Japan and most of Europe they do call the cars by the numbers and all even if they have real names. It seems like thats the route they are all starting to take these days.

I still would have come up with something better than the Zephyr. Makes it sound like a blimp or something, I mean the things not even close to being a boat sized car!

Posted by: AndrewCoja

They were most likely trying to have a throwback to the V12 Zephyr.

At least they got rid of the tank interior of the MKZ. The looks are growing on me. I'll have to check out the genII of it. Unless they come out with the MKR. In that case, ahghaguhguhuahg.

I cannot deny that the name is a bit out of place, but I also can't deny that it's one of the more unique names for a car. But I am a big Lincoln fan, and I like the heritage aspect of the Zephyr name a lot. It's a "classic" name, from a bygone era, something to remember even though you may have no idea what the car looks like. The name Lincoln is in the same boat as Zephyr imo, neither really fit the modern age, and that's why we like em.

But all that aside, it sure beats random letters or numbers for a car name. On that note too I'd really like to point out how much better off I think Lincoln's naming would be if they'd take their shortened MK and set it back to Mark. Mark Z sounds better already. Lincoln Mark S would be ok too. Like I said, I think they should embrace their heritage, and for the last 15-20 years one of the only things Lincoln's had going for it aside from the Towncar was the Mark series, which I think we almost all agree were sweet cars. They definitely all had personality, and were a bit different from just about everything else out there looks-wise.

Posted by: JWerner2

I agree to a point but even more so that makes it stupid is that Ford allready had a car named the Zephyr.

Posted by: Garbone

It is huge...204" long LS = 193"
It is huge...61" high LS = 57"(or so)
This is longer, and taller than the Lexus LS460!
It is huge...well over 4200#!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a town car replacement more than a LS replacement!

You can't really claim that Lincoln was stealing the name, as they had it first and had the right to use it.

Posted by: JWerner2

No really? I figured that out. Thats why I said the article on wikipeida I posted was confusing.

Never said anyone stole anything.

Posted by: JWerner2

I heard of its existence, thats why I looked into things with it. On the other hand I myself did not know of the other antique Zephyr that Lincoln made till it was posted. Hence the cause of the confusion.

Where and what country vehicle was released has nothing to do with that .

You are correct, sir. There is, as yet, no LS replacement. The MkS is a FWD/AWD Town Car replacement.

Posted by: fissel1ls

As for me, I really like the MKS, it gives me hope in that I will be able to replace the LS with another Lincoln someday. I plan to drive the LS until the wheels fall off of it. About a month ago, I had my LS at the dealership for service and they gave me a MKZ as a service loaner. The interior of the MKZ was beautiful, but the car just is not comparable to an LS in performance. I was happy to return the 2007 MKZ for my 2000 LS V8 when it was ready.

Posted by: Sn8kbordin

Since Lincoln is now competing with Buick... they don't have anything for me.

Posted by: Kelleyo

I am lucky enough that I get to drive my LS replacement

This MKS thing is what made my mind up to move on.
