OK... I have gone through a lot of threads and did not find and answer to this one. I just bought a 94 and the factory cassette / head unit did not work. No buttons activated anything. So I bought another one that seems to work OK except that when I try to play a disk from the 10-disk changer in the trunk, I don't get anything.
I see that the normal error displayed is nd for no disk, but I don't even get that. When I press play, nothing happens at all, as if the button on the head unit is not working? None of the CD control buttons seem to be doing anything. Is there some way to activate the changer besides the head unit? I guess what I need to know is if there is anyway to test the 10-disk changer itself to see if it is even playing disks. When I load the cartridge, it seems to lock in correctly. I have a 97 Expedition with a 6 disk changer that would always give you the nd error if it failed to read the disk but I am getting nothing.
