Tapping Noise

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Duck

I am getting a tapping noise from the rear of the right valve cover as the engine warms up. Only makes the noise at idle. Doesn't make the noise as soon as it is started, but starts as the motor warms up. Anyone have any ideas?
Maybe unrelated, but the engine has a severe stumble at low rpm until the engine warms up. I haven't been able to track it down either.
Thanks
Duck

any CEL? pulled that plug? could be a lot of things, maybe plug wire or coil (gen 1?) or-how long since last time you did a tune, air filter, cleaned MAF, PVC, maybe even O2 Sensor (s)-oil change/weight?

Nope, no CEL. The guy I bought it from had tuned it not too long ago. Old plug wires were still in the trunk.
I am going to give it an oil change this weekend.

Do you think it might be an internal issue? Maybe a sticky lifter or something.

If so it might be worth your time to check out this site:
