Key stuck in ignition

Hello All,

I have a 2001 Lincoln LS V8. I can turn the car off, however the key does not come out, wheel doesn't lock and will shift into park, but doesn't show a "P" like all other gears do. Iv'e seen suggestions about replacing the ignition switch or a solenoid. (Key is in the dash not the steering column)

Any other ideas??? Thanks for any assistance.

that happened to my brothers impala this is what i did hope it works

put the key in the run position then move to nutural then switch back to off (that usally dosent let you pull the key out) try to pull the key out try wabbleing it a little but not to hard you dont wanna break your key then pop it back into run put it back into park and while switching the key back to the off wabble the key and pull and it should come out

best of luck i really hope it works dont know much more then that
it worked for my brothers hopefully it will work for yours
