Im thinking bout buying a 01 ls. Is there nething specifically i should look for when inspecting this year vehicle? Like, i hear the trannys arent so great. Is that tru? Is the 250hp to the wheels or the crank? Also is there any aftermarket parts for this vehicle if so could u link me to some sites . Any info appreciated.

You'd have better luck posting this and searching in the LS section.

But to answer your questions - the transmissions are usually fine unless you beat the crap out of the car constantly. Solenoid packs are known to go from time to time for the transmission. Leaking valve cover gaskets result in dead coil on plugs. The 250 some-odd horsepower is at the crank. There are some aftermarket parts for these cars. You can find them here LSKoncepts.com.
