Air Silencers / Resonators

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've heard some people say that they didn't notice a difference after they removed their air silencer. Huh?? I took mine off last night and geez. Under hard acceleration you can definitely hear that quad cam V8 growl. I made a video for you guys to try and compare. Unfortunately I didn't do a before video... I wish I would have.

It sounds the exact same under normal driving but get on it and wow. In a way in miss the quietness of it but love the new attitude.

Yeah its a cool little mod to do heard you also get a little 1-5 horsepower kick which is nice of course probably not gonna feel the difference, but add a few more mods and now your just added horse power left and right hahaha...Don't think you can do this on a Gen2 which I have...true?

Sup goddard! Yeah you can. You don't have the resonators on the intake tube, but you do have the air silencer thingy in the passenger fenderwell.

yup, im air silencer-less for the last 3 years

Yea sounds nice, but I don't believe it'd give you any power gain at all.

Ditto, drilled holes in the box to get air from the front and added a K&N - not much HP gain, but does sound better!

Thats most likely true, I wasn't expecting any though. Just a change in sound.

Took out my silencer last week. At the same time I noticed my compressor shock mounts are bad. Need to get some.
