Hey guys,

I'm new to working on cars, and I got a Mark VIII a little while ago. (My ride to highschool, How's that for a first car? ) Anyways, now that I've had it for a little while, I kind of wanted to get into actually doing some cool stuff to it. One thing I really want to do to it is install these two subs that I got with an amp. I was wondering if someone could give me a step by step of how to do this? Also, my door ajar light is constantly on. The previous owner had a minor T-Boning incident so there's a huge dent in the door, I'm pretty sure that that is what is causing it, I was wondering if there's an easy way to either disable the sensor, or if I'm going to have to re-wire within the door or something.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

for the door ajar, just spray the hell out of the latch pb blaster and slam the door a bunch of times if this doesn't work just change the switch. for the subs you running a stock headunit? if so the easiest way to add subs is replace the headunit and run rca's from the aftermarket unit to the amp

Everything in the car is stock, besides a drop in air filter so (though I'm unsure what a headunit is) I'm sure it is stock, yes.

i'm sorry maybe its my old age setting in but wouldnt you want to put a good door on it before you play with the not so important stuff? i've been seeing alot of stuff lately on these boards about my car has a slipping trans, or, the front end in really bad on my car, or the engine sounds like it is going to exploded, but, does anyone know where i can get some exhaust for my car, or does anyone know where i can get a 40 inch plasma tv for my car lol. if it was me i'd want the imprortant things fixed first i dont know like i said maybe im old and do things different.

What you're not gonna put a 40" plasma in it ... hehehe... yeah I'd go with what chicken said... I just put a system in this weekend... all four speakers, 12" sub, new wires and two amps... probably one of the easiest cars I've had to wire... the hardest part was getting the 4 gauge wire to the trunk... but I'd just replace the stock stereo... it sounds so much nicer and since it's a luxury car you don't really need all that much dynamat!... you can hardly hear any rattles outside my car .. it's great!!!
