did I do something to get everone mad at me? I posted a simple question about the click click my sunroof makes when it opens I have to help it wondered if I had to change motors or can I buy a gear or something

Posted by: sbcaprice305

Its probably due to the fact nobody know's the answer or you werent being specific enough. Details?

I make threads sometimes with no answers, it's normal .

Id guess motor- i believe theres a little access panel further behind the sunroof above the rear seat so you could get a better look. It put my money on the motor being shot tho

Posted by: sbcaprice305

So does it click constantly when going forward and backwards until it stops?

Or when you try to open it it just clicks and does nothing?

As jeff said take the rear s/r panel off above the rear seat on the headliner and see if thats were the noise is comming from/

If you have to manually push the sunroof to get it to open, I'll be the motor is worn out.

Sounds like the plastic teath are worn out.

I think you're little hamsters are dead and the only ones alive are eating the others... poor hamsters... maybe get a new motor to replace them and give them a proper burial... sorry too early in the morning for me

Is it the ASC roof or Lincoln roof - both are stock (post a pic of the switch they are different).

ASC switches are notorious for going bad.

Posted by: Jeffintampa

If I help it the clicking stops and continues to move, but I always have to help the start, Also when it goes all the way open it continues to click does anyone have a shut off or limit switch?

Posted by: slickemhoundd

ill tack on, my moonroof does not have the midstop, if i put it to vent and put it down it just keeps on going to full open or vise versa.. any help?

Posted by: Jeffintampa

mine still has the mid stop but to start from the mid start it clicks till I help it

Posted by: chickenviii

we need to know what roof you have (stock or not) where is the roof switch at? sounds to me like the track might be stripped right there

Posted by: Jeffintampa

My Mark is 100% stock, the switch is inbetween the little light switches on the roof

Posted by: Markviiiedrea

I had the ASC in my first car and that thing was crap!

Posted by: chickenviii

id open the inspection cover over your rear seat, drop the motor and check out the teeth on the motor and the track
