I have a 93 Lincoln Continental Signature and on the instrument cluster it beeps and is annoying Check DCL does not do it all the time but does it often when this happens the gauges (MPG AND TRIP DISTANCE) go blank with lines through them what does this mean and what can stop this

What it means is you have finally fallen to the DCL gods as have the rest of us with 88-94's..
the upside is, its an easy fix, and if you can deal with the chime, you dont HAVE to fix it (it does not effect any part of the vehicle except the dash).
to fix, search for 'dcl tuneup' via google or other. follow them instructions (basically remove cluster, clean contacts). I also recommend getting the pins of the 2 black connectors on the back of the cluster resoldered. those 2 things (the tuneup and the resoldering) WILL get rid of it for good.

Hey there thanks for the info I had heard that once before about pulling the cluster out and cleaning contacts so about a year ago ipulled all the cluster out and cleaned al the contacts with alcohol and it worked good for about 2 weeks then here came dcl again i took care of the chime i unhooked the plug in for it ill google it like you mentioned as well thanks so much
