98 Cobra intake manifold

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have a 98 Cobra intake manifold for sale. The runners have been professionally shortened and epoxied by a speed shop in the Detroit area for more horsepower in the upper rpm's. Gains on these type of short runner intakes over stock Cobra are in the 20rwhp range and over stock Mark VIII in the 40rwhp range. The condition of the intake manifold is very good, the snake plaque on the upper intake is in great shape. You get the upper and lower intake and the 98 plastic IMRC plates. No throttle body (if you have a gen 2 you can reuse your stock one along with stock TPS and IAC). I'm selling because I found out there is no way I will pass smog with this intake in CA even if I retain the EGR. This intake is not recommended for stock gear Mark VIII's, you need at least 4.10's. $430 shipped anywhere in the US. Paypal is my preferred.

let my curiousity get the best of me here.......at least 4.10's? The cobra doesn't have 4.10's. and that is an insanely high ratio for a daily driver that gives a about fuel economy

Not true......

My 95 would still knock out 21-22 MPG with the Cobra intake and 4-10s.

My buddy has a 97 LSC with stock gearing, and a cobra intake swap. and the thing is lethargic to say the least. 3.73's arent much better.

4.10's with a good driveshaft, and a Cobra intake is one hell of a combination.

Price sounds very reasonable, personally I'd be in but I'm scratching for pennies for my vacation next week.

Last chance to buy this intake for you guys, if no one wants it by Monday I will sell it to my friend with a 97 Cobra.

What sort of modifications will I need to do if I buy this?

Posted by: 98CobraStarLSC

before the swap, 4.10 gears,

doing the swap, you need cobra fuel rails, flip the throttle body upside down, custom make a bracket for the cruise control, relocate the throtle cable mount. from what i understand it is not for amatures to install, it isnt the easiest.

$350 shipped or my friend gets it (don't have to pay for shipping).
