this was my car as of late yesterday

i spent around 125 bucks between the scoop, and the materials to make this hood a cowl, painted it yesterday with just some black base , no clear, wasnt finished, came out this morning and saw a bubble in the front down near the grille, my only guess was yesterday i must have got water between the hood and scoop when i washed it and because the bottom wasnt cut out yet it had no where to go, needless to say, i got the keys, drove right to the shop, pulled it off ( myself that was fun ) pulled another black hood down from my loft and threw the cowl hood right in the dumpster. what a waste of 3 long days of labor, im so finished with trying to be custom, better left alone, honestly after putting the stock hood back on, i like the front end better this way anyway. she was just telling me that she wasnt meant for a cowl hood, so im gonna listen and just finish the damn body work and paint it black again and drive it, i'll leave the custom crap for under the hood and chassis. this is the car as of late today!! and i even got a mint hood, best looking part of the whole car, i hate to repaint the hood its so nice!

We live and learn... that cowl looked ok, but i definitely prefer the clean lines of a stock hood.

I feel for ya. I've had many a side project come back and bite me in the azz. I always say as I'm tearin it apart it's not worth the hassle. Next day when I'm done beating myself up I'll start another project. I guess it's in our blood.

That sucks.
Thats is why I hate body work, water can kill.

I do like the stock look better though....must be nice to have parts when you need them.
Did it smash when it hit the dumpster or did you smash it before it hit the dumpster
If it was me I would have took a hammer to it I would have lost it.

nope i just plopped it in there, there was already 3/4 of a full dumpster so it made a soft landing, its perfectly fine, just has trash on top of it, but tomorrow morning it will be compacted into the back of the trash truck when they come empty it. i wasnt gonna waste energy smashing it all up. who cares, its done and over with and now i can concentrate on the car itself again!

dang! wish i coulda gotten it from ya and had somebody fix it. i kinda like the cowl look!

Car looks much better without it!!
