grill emblem

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have seen some last generation devilles with an emblem on the grill. How come some have those? Is that an accessory I can pick up?

the gold emblem on the grille is only on limited edition cadillacs. the only way to get one would be to rip one off

Not true - Here is a place that sells them:

Gold Cadillac Grill Emblem

It is True. They are called Heritage Medallions.

Correct. The Heritage Medallions is something you get after purchasing your second NEW Cadillac. If you look they have a Roman number on them. That signifies how many new Cadillac's that person has owned hence the name Heritage Medallion.

It has nothing to do with 'limited edition' anything. It's part of YOUR heritage not the car.

Most people don't even know what they are and quite often you can find them in scrap yards. However if you don't have one on your car then you're not REALLY part of the family. Don't feel bad I don't have one either.

Another thing to make note of is the hood ornament's age old fixture atop the hood was changed in later years to the grill itself to supposedly cut theft I suppose and aid wind tunnel numbers, though that's an educated guess on my part, the problem with theft is very real, I replaced my Eldo's TWICE!

The hood ornniment only moved to the grill on the Touring Sedans. That was part of the Touring Package. I think even the 05 Deville's have a hood orniment.

I'm not as tuned in on the late 90/2000 models, though being a devout 79-85 Eldo fan, for the later models, I'd switch loyalties to the STS/SLS Sevilles. You can certainly say hood ornaments on the actual hood appear a thing of the past though. I had ornament theft on my 82 Cutlass If I can recall as well. I figured this just was too common a problem, but there appears no shortage on eBay.

You can buy as many as you like on eBay. You can buy pewter, gold or the new age type. You can also find center pieces to increase the number of Caddys you own.http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/new...reply&p=32080#
