So, my car is still at the body shop where it's getting a complete repaint...or so I thought. I went to go pick it up on Saturday, but there was a couple scratches in the bumper that showed up that he needs to fix before he'll give me the car. Anyway, as I was looking at it, I noticed that they hadn't repainted the headlight brows or the grill (98 LSC). These were the worst-looking spots on the car and a large part of why I wanted to get it repainted. The brow on the pass. side is flaking off really bad and the grille has some bad spots on it. When I asked him about it, he told me that pieces like that were not normally part of a paint job. He then pointed out that he didn't paint the parts around the rear taillights and neon (which don't look bad at all, so I don't mind). He also said something about not being able to paint the brows and the grille because of the material it's made out of, and not being able to sand it down. I know people have gotten these pieces painted before....how did you do it?

He is wrong. When you buy and LSC grille it comes non painted. It is just plastic that can be scuffed and painted. I'm sure he just forgot to paint it and instead of doing it right, put it back on and was hoping you wouldn't notice.
Whatever the case is, it can definitely be repainted.
