DPFE Sensor location?

Hello everyone this is my first post on this site and instead of hijacking another members thread I will make my own!

I have a obd1 95 mark and the check engine light will come on after you drive it for 5 or so minutes. Turn the key off and start back up, it will go out for another 5 minutes and blammo, back on.

I Tried a Snap On scanner and it said the EGR pressure code which from what I gathered would be because of the DPFE Sensor. The car runs flawless without any problems light on or off but the stupid orange CEL light makes me crazy!

My question is, Where is this beast located? I am used to the old carb ways of the fox body so this is a whole new animal haha thank you in advance for the help!!

"The EGR valve helps your car more efficiently and completely burn fuel by recirculating a portion of your exhaust and running it through the combustion process again. This results in a cooler, more complete burn of the fuel which decreases you car's noxious emissions by prohibiting the formation of some harmful gases"

im guessing you have a leak in your EGR tube... and the sensor is detecting that... replace the EGR Tube.

the check engine really only comes on when emissions things are blatently wrong - so your probably not recirculating fuel - hows your gas milage?

The sensor is bolted to the back of the engine on the driver's side.

Remove the windshield wiper motor to reach it more easily.

well I do not have emissions so that is a plus but I want thinks to work right. I do not have any exhaust leaks on the car and cannot hear any leaks at all but Based on the Snap on scanner this is the most likely culprit but 110 dollars to replace it with new so I want to make sure this is the problem haha.

Wow Small world! Sadly, that is what we are turning into, a smaller allentown, strip malls are going everywhere!!!!

Like the other member said, it's on the top rear of the drivers side, maybe one of the hoses have fallen off of it or has cracked as well. It is a pain to get to.

Yeah I noticed It is a pain to get to haha Just got to start tearing it all apart now. So much for Tips this week!

Buy it from Team Ford or from Max at 5 star, you will get it cheaper than autozone/advance and it will be oem.

also check your egr valve itself,

start engine and at idle apply vacuum to the valve,the engine should slow down and run a little rough,

Yeah I have not had a single problem with the car and it runs fine but the light comes on and it makes go crazy! haha
