Lately my trany has been acting a little bit funny. Lets say I'm at a dead stop and decide to gun it. I would damn near redline in first gear if I dont let off the gas, then it would changes gears. It been like this maybe for about a 2 months now. Anybody know what the problem is?

Sounds like accumulator and spring need replaced. Have you done the J mod yet? Is your tranny filter the original, and are you running Mercon V.

Are you trying to say that it WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS if you hadn't taken your foot off the gas?

pretty much. if i held it down any longer, it would redline. this only happens in first gear.

This car is definately running mercon 5 now. I think you need to take it to have tranny service done at the local Ford dealer. It has been a year now since the transmission was rebuilt. That is what needs to be done next.

Have you checked your fluid level "hot"?
