Lincoln LS wheels on MN12 chassis

I sold a set of new wheels, 18 x 8, 48mm offset on E-Bay to a fella who didn't investigate the fitment first. With this offset he has a slight interference problem with the spindle on his 96 Thunderbird, probably at the top radius area. Does he add a spacer? grind? or both. Thanks in advance.
