The goodies list...
Phenom 9500 quad processor 2.2 overclocked to 2.6
3000 Mhz FSB
2x360GB 7200 SATA Drives Raid 0 setup
Vista on Drive 0
XP on Drive 1
Nvidia 8600GTS XXX with 512mb
2mb L2, 2mb L3
4gb DDR2 800mhz (PC6400)
1800mb partially shared Video memory
Firewire
TV Tuner

Running MS Office and Sony Vegas

This thing better scream.

I was gonna get one but I game alot. My 6400 is better suited for gaming while the phenom is great for multi tasking. What mobo are you gonna run? I was gonna have to upgrade mobo's also because they say my crosshair will bottleneck the phenom. For the price you really can't go wrong. If you do alot of gaming, go with a higher speed dual core.

Vista? I'm sorry...

...the Quad core should be nice though...

First thing I was going to have to toss was my laser printer. Not anymore.

Can't beat 'em, join 'em.

You'll notice I'm running Vista AND XP. lol.

I'm not into Linux or any of the off-mainstream stuff.

I swim with the fishes.

I'd like to clock faster for sure but I am not a gamer. I'm into high-def video editing and this thing will work seamlessly with my HD projector. There is nothing in the world like your own movie screen. I've got 110" at 14ft viewing and I have to kick people out of the house.LOL.

If you are thinking of doing a 50-60" rear projection or LCD, don't! Step up to the front pj world. There are incredible deals right now on 720p projectors or even the XGA, WXGA projectors that are hd compatible with 3000 lumens now that the 1080p's have had a huge price drop. Time to jump in.

Benchmarking Supreme Commander the Phenom ran 16 fps faster than the Intel E6400, fwiw.

The Phenoms have a bad rap but you benefit from the bad press with the price drop and that makes them so inviting over the Intel stuff. That is why I went this way.

And when there is some actual 64 bit stuff to run, I'll be there.

Ya I know about the 9550 and 9650 upgrades. But you have to pull the trigger sometime. I'll sell the 9500 to someone who wants a quad-core and trade up to a 9850 when the right deal comes along.

The price for this computer was stupid cheap because of the 9500. They know they are unsaleable after the b3 stuff comes out. But I'm not to worried about running into the tlb bug. I think it is overblown.

make sure you trash that amd heat sink if your gonna turn that phenom up some. I run my 6400 at 3.4 with water cooling. The cooler you can keep her the longer it will last.

Ya, some guys are going to try hitting 4.0 with water-cooling on the AMD. I'll let others be the guinea pig first. I prefer 'uptime'. I have 4 fans running in the box now.
