slight knocking...

There is a slight knocking i guess I would call it coming from the engine. It's not bad and performance isnt affected....yet. Could this be leaky vcg's ? Or is this a sign of bigger problems. It is due for an oil change though.

What kind of gas are you using?

Posted by: EmpireSix

93 oct, although sometimes I use 91.. depends on where I get it from. Detonation ?

I always get 93, but I found that not all 93's were equal around here. There is one Shell station that I would get a slight knock on light acceleration after a fill-up. After I figured out the pattern, I stopped ever getting gas at that one station, and haven't had any knock since. Just a thought...

does the car knock dramatically and does it happen at idle or when braking? i

no, its nothing dramatic.. it goes up and down with the rev's.. but it smooths out at higher rpms. it does at idle too.

you may want to pop out the coils to see if there's any oil in the wells, but more than likely its the gas

it sounds like the coils are going bad thats what happens when they start going bad
