Having some problems with my car starting...I've got an 02 LS V6. The car has been parked over the winter and in doing so, the battery died on me. Periodically i would go out to where it's parked and fire it up, let it run for a half hour and then shut it down. The last time, not thinking, i engaged the alarm, and surprise surprise my battery ended up dead. I put the charger on it for a while, and eventually grew impatient. My charger has a hundred amp quick start switch that i kicked on and proceeded to start the car...due to a poor connection to the battery, the charger kicked in and out several times...lights dimming etc. I then removed the battery and trickle charged it over night (2a) and the battery was charged. I then placed my fully charged battery in the car (trunk! for sakes) and my car turned over well, but won't fire.
I wondering whether i blew a fuse or something...any thoughts/suggestions?
it's got new plugs/coils.
Thanks

Does anyone know who would let me borrow/rent a code reader/scanner up here in Canada?

I'm having battery issues too, though I think I need a new battery. I've been working on the interior of my car a lot lately, which requires the door to stay open, lights on, and indicator chirping for an extended period of time. two times now it has died, and a couple other times it looked like it was about to die so I turned it on and got it going.
If i were you, I would get the battery checked out. It may have enough juice to turn the car, but not start it. Which is definitely a possibility.
Mine just clicks.
Take your battery to Autozone or a similar place like that and get it checked out. If it's not the battery, could be the solenoid or a relay.

With out knowing if the car is throwing any DTC's, it is hard to give advise. In that the car was running up until the battery died I would make sure the battery is fully charged and check the Throttle Position Switch for any corrision. The contacts are gold plated and very sensitive; unplug and replug a couple times and manually move the throttle(butterfly, remove air intake hose). If any moisture got on the contacts combined with a weak battery could very well be the problem. This is my only suggstion without knowing the DTC's. Good Luck
