My relese in my car doesnt work. How can i fix it? Im tired of poping the trunk every time. .....wow that sounds lazy

Posted by: tonye96

Team Ford sells the switch for about 8 bucks.

Posted by: sickmark8

if you press the button and you hear the clicking sound in the car, the switch works, its just that the fuel door a little sticky. try to clean up around the door and mabye spray some wd-40 on the hinge to make it more loose. hope this helps.

When i bought mine it had the same problem. Thanks to you guys i used wd-40 and sprayed a good coat throughout the mechanism and it opens on the first time now.

another problem solved by WD40, lol.....ill try it on mine tomorrow, feels like im double clicking when i try to open mine

Posted by: fossten

The button on mine fell out. I put it back in and it worked for a while, but now it doesn't even click. Is there another way to open the door without the button? I need to put gas in it.

Posted by: 93' Blue on blue

There is a manual fuel door release cord inside the trunk, on the right. If you can't see it, pull back the carpet - may have fallen behind.

thanks.

The spring on mine has actually rusted away, Max do you sell just the spring that is attached to the door?

Posted by: mrzeee

Hi Mafioso

I need the year of your mark. I have the 93-97 but the 98 is different. Your profile is basicly blank so that was of no help. The spring is a small piece of spring steel behind the latch retainer held to the door with a small bolt. The 93-97 one is a F3LY-6328608-A lists for $8.67 and LVC is 6.50. The 98 is a F8VZ-6328608-BA and lists for 9.25 and LVC is $6.94.

Max
