Power antenna

OK guys, today, I went into an auto car wash after turning off the radio and for some reason the antenna didn't go down and now looks like a friggin' modern art masterpiece. I tried to straighten it and broke it off in my hand.
I see the replacement mast on E-bay, but how hard is it and how do I replace it? Does Max carry them/ How much?

just install a hidden amplified antenna... have the hole filled and painted!

Yes Max does carry them...P/N F3AZ-18A886-A listing at 62.33 and costing you $46.75 plus ups of about 8.00.

Thanks for the help guys. I kind of like the power antenna. Its cheaper than filling and repainting the hole!

where do you get one? I'm welding mine up here next month.

I would also be interested in one of these amplified antennas, I plan on welding mine up.

Listen to this- the dealership swaps out my antenna and now the reception sucks. Just about like no antenna. So the car goes back to them tomorrow. Great service huh?

I got mine from a friend who's parents own a pontoon boat company... they install them under the helm. But you can usually get them at any good car stereo store; run about $20-$30, only requires you to hook up a ground and ignition hot. Draws so little that you can usually just bump off of the ignition hot to the stereo. Although they advise attachment to the windshield, you can install on the backside of the dash or between the roof and headliner.

The first one is what I use; I've installed them in cars and boats... second I have no experiance with, but it looks legit. Either way, the first one works atleast as well as a factory antenna, if not better! Depends on how and where it's mounted; glass will give best reception, mounted against plastic will do well, and mounted against metal will give the least reception (But, I've got one of these installed in a 13 ton 8-wheeled Light Armored Vehicle... essentially a huge mass of hardened steel... it works just fine.)

Thanks, how about mounting it to the inside of the rear window, top and center?
