so guys ....i'm pretty new to the lincoln ls and i was going to run this past you to see if you know where to begin with this problem it all started with the battery light comming on a few weeks ago so i got the battery tested and it was no good so i got a new battery .........light still came on this time along with the abs e-brake light and traction control light so ......i did some reading and everyone was saying that its the alternator......so i got a new alternator......it seemed okay for a few days......then i had it parked for a few days at work (company truck) and i got into it last night the battery light came on..... changed lanes to pull over message center said the right turn signal was burnt out i pulled over to check things out and it was fine got back into the car the blinker was flashing normal again (not really fast).....so i continued home last night as i was cruiseing down the highway my speedo and tach started bouncing odometer and trip meter and messege center started fading and comming back on as well as the climate contol then it all died car still ran great i have a avic-d3 deck the voltage is normal no problem i hit a few bumps and everything came back on.....SORRY its so long.....so i checked all the fuses and the battery connections ....cleaned the battery ground and the battery light still comes on does anyone know what might be causeing this it sounds like a bad ground somewhere .......

i have had the "right turn lamp" warning or whatever too, got out and checked it and it was fine and then the warning went away a little later.
Check the alternator + terminal make sure its tight. then make sure those battery terminals are extra tight , maybe even get a terminal cleaner and use it on that.

Did you ever find any mice nests in your car anywhere? Sounds like a bad dash connection somewhere. I would guess a ground wire for either the entire underdash wire harness or just a cluster ground wire. Sometimes these are impossible to find. It would really help if someone could post up a ground point schematic for an LS

Check the ground wire where it connects to the body.

you mean the ground wire that is comming off the battery to the inside of the trunk.........i have checked that and cleaned it ....and even went as far as cleaning the battery posts on the new battery and the clamps......the problem is still there

Sounds like a bad ground under the dash. Good Luck because anything in the dash sucks to work on !!
