Okay, First off, This board has helped me many times in figuring out problems with my Wife's LS. She has the dreaded 2000 LS V6, loaded will all the inherent problems mentioned throughout this sight. The latest problem is the overheating issue which I have diagnosed as the Hydrauic cooling fan pump. I'm not going to convert it to an electric fan. So I'm exploring my options. The part number I have found is 2W4Z8C607AA which shows to be a cooling fan and motor. However, I'm not sure if this is the hydraulic pump I need. In doing my searches on the part sites, I have found another part labeled hydrauic unit, which is more expensive than the cooling fan and motor. Basically my question is, Which part number and part do I need for the hydraulic cooling fan pump? Also, would it be an unwise decision to install a used one if I can find one? Have the new ones been fixed to correct the failures? And can a V8 pump be used on a V6? Prices and part numbers please. Thanks in advance.

Hi JS
That p/n has been replaced by the newer # of 6W4Z-8C607-A and has a list of 559.18 and cost you 301.96 plus ups. It is a hydraulic motor/fan unit. I am not sure if a used one would be wise unless it is a real steal...I would hate to do the job twice. I do not think the V-8 would fit. Repairs vs replacement??? do not of anyone who does that.
