New motor

What would be the best replacement motor for a 82 sedan de ville? I want to be able to drive the car to california and not worry about breaking down plus I want to add some zip to the car. Thanks

I believe those had a V6, V8 and a Diesel option- what do you have now?

As generic Iwould just put in what you have, CA can be tough on swapping stuff around. Hi-Po carb and good true dual exhaust is a good place to start.
