Windshield Washer Pump Gone Bad?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Ok i have a problem and i dunno if it could be the wiring but when i press the windshield washer button on the wiper arm my wipers go on but no washer fluid comes out and i cant hear my pump or motor kick on, could it be that the pump has gone bad?

I cant here the pump from in the car. The hose was cracked on mine so the fluid was leaking out before getting to the jets to spray on the windshield.

Mine didn't work either. As said check the bottle to see that it's full 1st.

Just use water at this time.

Now have someone activate the switch while you have your ear close to the pump.

In my case the pump would run. I removed the hose on from the little inline filter on the bottom of the bottle. I then blew compressed air thru the line. This took a little doing to get the lines clear.

I have done this to a bunch of different vehicle's to get the washers working.

I then removed the filter and back blew thru it. Reinstalled everything and they worked fine.

BUT! Then I was getting a "Low Fluid" message on the message center.

A little digonistoics proved that there was power there and the ground was good, so I ordered a sending unit for the bottle. When I pulled the old sending unit out, it just fell apart.

I lubed the silicone gasket with silicone spray and shoved the new one in.

All works well now.
