Anybody who has pics of Ray from any of the meets, please post them up. Ray was a big part of the LVC family and a close personal friend. I would like to put together an album of pics of Rays other family to present to Rays family. His dad and his brother were very much a part of Rays love of his Mark, and I am sure that they would appreciate it. I really am having a hard time believing that Ray is gone. I just missed a call from him a few weeks back and I am kicking myself in the ass for not making the time to call him back.

Posted by: devilchild

OMG !!.. i didnt know him that well.. but i just talked to him a few weeks back ..and just got my "Rayswitch" in the mail... i havent even opened it yet !!

i only spoke to him a few times .. but he seemed like a great guy...he was soo willing to go out of his way to build me that switch.. i was looking forward to possibly meeting, and thanking him in person at Carlysle this year...

once again.. my heart goes out to his family and close friends

Posted by: tda13

Wow... I am speechless.

We all know that this is more than just a forum of general discussion. This is a place that we all meet and make new friends. Take all Lincoln stuff out, we have all lost a friend.

Please know that you will be in our prayers.

Erica, please accept my deepest heartfelt condolences. Ray was one those members on LVC that has done everything to his Mark, and shared his knowledge freely. He will be deeply missed. Ray helped me last year with my 93 Mark when I totally redid my fuel system. I have relatives in Penn Hills, and we were planning to get together and drive from Pittsburgh to Carlise this summer.

as long as I have known Mark VIII's, I have known about Ray, and who he was.
He has never written a bad word pointed in my direction, no matter where I spend my time.

We had only exchanged a few emails, but we seemed to be cut from the same tree in many ways...

he, like I, would spend time helping others, or posting technical info to help anyone that needed it along the way.

I knew him no more than words of text on a page...but I liked him.

Ray...R.I.P.

we will ALL miss you.

I'm beside myself, i dont know what to say...man this sucks, ill miss ya ray, wanted to meet him this year at boscobel, we talked alot, he was a suspension and electronics guru, and helped me figure out my mistake when i installed his switch wrong. i would bounce suspension ideas off of him and he always went above and beyond. lvc has now had 2 great losses in a very short time. Erica our deepest sympathy's for your loss, and im not sure if ray pissed anybody off on lvc he helped everyone he could

Posted by: turborich

I never know what to say when a horrible thing such as this happens, Ray always answered everyones questions & Knew his Marks. I never met him but I could tell that he was a good guy.

I didn't know Ray but know him by the steelers atvar, he always was postive and helping people.
Its a sad day.

Truely UNBELIEVEABLE. I recieved a call from his dad this morning (saturday) and was absolutely speechless and crushed about the news. Ray had helped me dozens and dozens of times with my lincoln right in his driveway and I also went to several car cruises with him and we'd have our Mark VIII's perched in the corner and they got a suprising amount of attention. Ray also did everything without ever asking or expecting anything in return, truely a great guy. I'll also never forget his great sense of humor and ability to make me constantly die of laughter lol.

Rest in peace buddy.

We really need to know the when and where as soon as possible. Respectfully thank you.

Posted by: torquemonkey

My condolences. Having a few conversations with Ray, I know him to have been a man of great integrity.

Posted by: 96hotrodlincoln

Ray was a great guy, I spoke with him on several occasions on the phone to run some ideas by him about the air ride system. He was very knowledgeable about our cars and a great reference when anybody had a question. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. I only wish I would have gotten the chance to meet him. He will be greatly missed, he was a pioneer is his own way.

With all that said, did Ray ever share his plans for the Ray switch kit with anyone? I placed my order with him back in November, I had spoke with him about a month ago and he said that he was away with work and hadn't had time to finish putting it together yet. I'm not even worried about the money, they need it worse than me at this point. I can only hope that he shared the plans with someone else and that they might be able to build these kits.

Posted by: MonsterMark

If I can find mine, I'd be happy to donate it to you. Never used it. Brand new. My black Mark has the Ray kit and I'm not gonna put it in the white car anyway.

I know Ray would have never wanted a guy to not get his kit once it was promised.

Send me a PM and I'll follow up.

Posted by: buddylee

Wow what a Loss, Ray was this place ! It will not ever be the same

if there is a link to a online guestbook , please someone post.

I have my 2nd Ray's switch kit in my garage (I've been lagging getting it in my wifes car) Now I know I have to get it in,
RAY would have wanted that Lincoln Sitting on the ground.

Had a lot of time to think of Ray this weekend. Got hit by the flue on Saturday morning couldn't even go to my daughter's track meet. Wow this was a long bug. It's still hitting me. Head, Stomach, and Lungs.

I'm not sure if I can make the funeral as I'm sure school will not let me off for the time. I had to pull tooth and nail to get off for Dave's funeral. But I'd sure love to be there.

Ray had recently sent me an air intake tube that he trimmed and polished for me. I had not gotten around to post any pick as I was waiting to finish a few projects first.

Damn I hating these things...

If it were next week I would love to go, I have spoke with Ray many of times, on the phone and e-mail. He was always helpful.

When I first got my mark he so helpful with all the newbie problems with installing "his" switch to getting my trans problem fixed. I would have loved to have met him and thank him in person for all his help.

R.I.P. Ray my prayers are with you.

P.S. where can we send cards?

Posted by: MsM8tress

Hi Erkia, thanks for the info, I hate to ask this but the 11:00 memorial service, will there be viewing also? Reason being, I want to go to the viewing also, so if there is not, I will need to stay the night (wed-thurs).

Respectfully,
Debi

Posted by: 96hotrodlincoln

I wish I were able to make it, but I can't get away from work on such short notice and I really don't have the money at this time. Ray was a great guy and had some nice cars. Hopefully, the barney mobile will stay with the family and continue to shine. I'm sure there are many of us that would love to see it at any future shows that it could make it to.

Ray is already greatly missed but will continue to live on here at LVC. His posts have answered so many questions for myself and others. He was a great asset to everyone at LVC and will be greatly missed.

God bless you Ray, our prayers are with your family!

My condolences to Ray's friends and family. I didn't know Ray (I wasn't on-line a lot) but from the reactions from the members of LVC it is clear to me that Ray was more than another member...he was family. I've read many posts written by Ray in the forums and he seemed to be a well respected person on LVC. I hope I will be able to hear and learn more about him, because I'm sure a lot of you have some great memories to share.

I wish that i could be there but i will not be able to make it. To those traveling to the funeral have safe travels, I did sign the guest book.

Erica

It's the very least we could do, for all that Ray did for us.

Posted by: MsM8tress

So far, from what I can tell it is the chickens n me from LVC able to go. I know the weather is trash, I know the timing sucks, I know nobody likes these things, but if anyone else can make it please come, this isn't just a internet car club, LVC is a family, for us, being with each other when the times aren't so much fun, is just as important as sharing the fun times. If your hitting the road, drive safe and see you there.

Getting ready to leave in an hour, I will check back and if you are coming we can keep in touch via cellie while on the road. PM me if you would like to.

God Bless

I have heard from MsM8tress and her and the Chickens made it safely to Pittsburgh for the funeral so LVC is well represented.

Posted by: driller

I plan to attend the services tomorrow.

Posted by: bufordtpisser

This si the first that I have been able to get online in the past few days. The Ice storm has all of my services out, electric, and internet. And to top it all off, I have a bad case of the Flu and Pneumonia. I got very sick just after the chat session over the weekend, and have been in bed ever since. I really wanted to be there to send off my friend. I am only 5 hours away. If I could be there, I would. I just don't think that it would be wise to show up and make others sick. Erica, my heart is heavy for you. I really wish that more LVC members could make Ray's send off. He really is the best of the best. During one of my drugged up stupors I had a vision. I know why God called Ray home. With the way that things are going in this world especially with the young people, and all of the young people that we have lost during the Middle Eastern conflicts, God decided that he needed to welcome them all home with a sporting ride. No chariots, or golden steeds. He called Ray home because he is now sporting around in a Lincoln. And you can bet your ass that it is a lowered Lincoln. And you can bet your ass even more so that it was lowered with a Ray kit. And who better to install it then the man himself. You got it, God is now meeting the new arrivals in a stretched, lowered Mark VIII chauffeured by no other than Raymond Joseph Urso II. And running escort on a screaming Busa is none other than Jibit. That's right, Ray and Dave sporting the big man around in style.

RIP brothers Ray and Dave. And our hearts go out to Erica and Krys. One thing that the both of you have proven once and for all is that the good do die young.

Posted by: kustomizingkid

Wow, this was a shock.

Ray was a great guy from every helpful post he made and everything else he contributed to the community. I haven't been around long and haven't done much with my car and was having some issues. I figured who better to ask then Ray, shot him a pm and got every question I need answered and he gave me his number to call him if I got hung up on anything, talk about a great guy!

He will be missed... RIP Ray

Posted by: papa bear

Sorry to hear that we all lost a great friend to lvc,may he rest in peace. This is the worse news to come back to after not being able to chat on lvc for some time due to being swamped at work.So sad to hear

Posted by: chickenviii

ok the chickens just got home are going to bed...................good night

Posted by: MsM8tress

Rays not gone, neither is Dave.... today, for me, was abundant proof that they are both alive and thriving in all of us, (I will let the drillers eleborate in another thread). Seeing Ray off, the other events of this day, (and for it to be Valentines day), will forever remind me of what Ray and Dave helped start, and brought to LVC, ..... any and all type of help they could provide, caring, friendship, and just being there when someone being there was most needed too.

BufTP - I love the way you think. Prayers that you are feeling better hun!

Luv You Guys,

I'm saddened to learn of this. I've greatly enjoyed reading Ray's posts all these years. He will be greatly missed, and he will never be forgotten. God, please comfort and bless his loved ones at this time.

I didn't know Ray at all but can only say you would be doing him a service to remember him often, especially on here and at club events etc. One does not want to be forgotten.

It is great to see all the support shown here, hats off to you all.

I apologize to y'all for the very late post on this folks...
Was stunned to read of Ray Urso's passing!!!

Met Ray at Carlisle show in 2005... Had spoken lots of times. Brent Ray and I hung most of that Saturday in Carlisle. I had a part I never installed on my Gen II MKVIII and Ray was right there saying; Lets get her done bro... The spirit of kindness flowed through him and what a wonderful person to be around. Glad to
have shared his company and a few laughs that day...

Condolences can never assuage the grief felt by loved ones; hopefully his legacy of wonderful memories endure forever in your hearts and minds.

There are not many people you meet only twice and yet are impacted by word of their passing. May God Bless you all! RIP Ray!!! Put in a good word for us all...
