Yeah, i usually try to stay on substance. The problem is, in another thread, I challenged a view of his that on the surface seemd rather out there, and he didn't back it up. So, I switch tactics to see if he will back up some of his claims. Can't really argue with the kind of seemingly baseless claims spouted, unless an arguement and/or evidence is given to debate. I am trying to get him to break his arguement down. I figured verbally poking might cause him to do so. Rest assured, i wasn't just reacting, it was a (somewhat) calculated action. Thanks for keepin me honest.

I will admit when someone proves themselves irrational on an issue, and they start making personal attack in the fact of a well reasoned arguement, I will mock them. however, at that point, as far as I am concerned, the arguement is over, anyway. Prime example would be the arguement I got in with Mr. Deville on gay marriage. I tried to be reasonable for quite a while. After he proved to me that he couldn't honestly debate that issue, and was making personal attacks, I stopped debating and started mocking a bit. I try not to use personal attacks as a substitute for an arguement. That is a sign of a weak position, and/or a weak person making the arguement.

Look, there are plenty of decent people out there who are involved in some level of politics, They will never be elected as president. Ask yourself why? Seems kinda fishy to me that the good ones seem to fade away & can't get a fair shake with the media. We are left with the bottom feeders when it's all said & done.

I have disagreed with Geno on plenty of things, I totally have his back on this deal. He might seem a little far out there to someone who only gets their information from the mainstream news outlets. If you watch the mainstream & indipendant news, listen to talk radio (left & right) then you will start to understand what's going on. Geno is just informed on this topic & can see where this country is headed very soon. I cannot believe all of the crap that the Bush adim has gotten away with. I am by no means a left winger either! I have always considered myself an indipendant who leans to the right. Why can't a third party canidate ever come close to winning??? It's a corrupt 2 party system & the few good ones don't ever get a chance!!!

I must say I agree with Rich on this.

Ron Paul has been squashed by the media. Only insider power grabbers who are wealthy can become president anymore, thanks to McCain-Feingold.

Those who only get their news from the MSM (including Fox News) are being programmed to be sheeple.

Let's start off with his war. Why are we still over there? Every day more & more young men die because of what? We are not doing anything good over there. That entire part of the world hates us & it's not ever going to change. Kinda funny how the plan was to go after Bin Laden & then we end up in Iraq instead. If they really wanted Bin Laden dead I'm sure it would have been done by now.

Why did Cheney's Company get all of those contracts over there? Cause they are a bunch of criminals! That's why.

Why are we speding so much money on Iraq? What about our Country? Our borders? Our schools are going to crap & so on. We really need to focus on our own country & stop trying to be the police of the world.

I am by no means anti military or anti war, but come on already! Enough is enough. These young people are dying for all of the wrong reasons.

You notice that gasoline prices are starting to drop? Hmmmm, why do you think that is? Maybe because the elections are just around the corner? Just wait until they are done with & then try to fill up your car. It's a cycle that always repeats itself but people just seem so blind.

Why do we try to controll the midle east but let mexico invade the U.S?

Why does bush love the illegal alien crowd so darn much? Maybe because his pockets are getting fat from the big business who wants them here for cheap labor? Then you have the even bigger picture, the NORTH AMERICAN UNION!

While it is true that the back breaker is his foreign policy, there aer many things I disagree with Paul on for this reason. While I agree we need to reduce the scope of government from A to Z, Ron Paul takes every issue to the extreme.

Take Dept of Education. While it fails to really educate anyone successfully, Ron Paul's stance is to eliminate it. Not gonna happen. Whiel I agree with him on taxes, he wants to abolish the IRS. It goes on and on and on. He takes everything to the extreme.

I've told you time and time again, liberals are willing to take incremental steps. Death by a thousand cuts. Ron Paul wants it all in one fell swopp. That is why people tune him out. Champion the causes a piece at a time. Force the cutbacks on eduction that need to occur gradually. 3-5% a year. Put business people in the positions of power in these departments. Get rid of the elected and unelected politicians that don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.

Start slow, win slowly.

Shamnesty, Direct assault on the 1st Amendment, war for 100 years in Iraq, no checks on spending, no tax relief, embryo stem cell research paid for by taxpayers, favors Democrats and their policies, Keating Five, mean, nasty temper, Washington insider political whore who votes to get media accolades.

If you're honestly thinking McCain would make a better President you are no conservative.

I don't like John McCain but this election is coming down to the Supreme Court, the very group you chastise for taking away our rights.

The next President will probably nominate 3 Supreme Court Justices, and could conceivably nominate 5.

You already have a Democrat controlled Senate. Now you want to hand over the reigns to a Democrat President.

Do you actually think they are going to nominate a conservative judge? Do you think they'll even nominate a moderate judge? Hell NO!

They are going to move the Court to the Left big time and then bring before the Court Redistricting under the cause celeb of 'fairness'. Nationwide the voting districts will be redrawn causing Republicans to lose huge in forthcoming elections. Democrats will attain super majorities in both Houses and in every State capital and the ball game will be over.

Go ahead and sit there with your lofty goals and convictions. Go ahead and lose BIG TIME. Go ahead and sacrifice everything you hold dear because you didn't get the candidate you deserve. Go ahead.

I have a 3 year plan to finish my business objectives and then it is see-ya-later-alligator.

My kids won't be forced to bow down to socialism. They will have the money and resources to do whatever they want, to live wherever they want.

I at least hold on to my principles instead of succumbing to situation ethics and political expediency (Read: Compromise with the left) and won't settle for another liberal president. This is more than politics. It is the death of the Republican party due to the conservatives being pushed out by the moderates. This is NOT MY FAULT. Get off your high horse.

"Fossten", In the post above , you mentioned that Liberman had been mentioned as a possible running mate to Mc Cain.
Hadn't heard that, but something I DID notice was in practically every public appearance by Mc Cain, ole Joe was standing right behind him, regardless if it was in New York, or California.
Seemed to be shadowing him.
Maybe there is some truth to it.

I'm being honest. Paul has no chance of winning. That is why I don't support him. How can you say this? This is why the underdog never gets a chance, Because of this thinking. You shouldn't vote for who you think will win, You should vote for who you want to be our next president! Who cares if that person wins or not, At least your vote counted!

Anyways, We pretty much know that it's between Hillary, Obama & McCain.

-- He opposes ANWR and supports the global warming cult, even posturing with fellow mountebank Arnold Schwarzenegger in front of solar panels.

The only site that would have been more appropriate for Schwarzenegger in endorsing McCain would have been in front of an abortion clinic.

Although McCain has the minimum pro-life record demanded by the voters of Arizona, in 2006, McCain voted in favor of using taxpayer funds to harvest stem cells from human embryos. He opposes a constitutional amendment to protect human life. And he frets that if Roe v. Wade were overruled, women's lives would be "endangered." This is the same John McCain who chides Mitt Romney today for "flip-flopping" on abortion. At least Romney flips and stays there.

Of course the most important issue for pro-lifers is the Supreme Court. As long as Roe v. Wade is the law of the land, it doesn't matter how many hearts and minds we've changed. So it's not insignificant that McCain has called Justice Samuel Alito too conservative.

We ended up with David Hackett Souter when a Republican president was actually looking for an Alito. Imagine how bad it will be when the "Republican" president isn't even trying.

McCain uses the boilerplate language of all Republicans in saying he will appoint "strict constructionists." This is supposed to end all discussion of the courts. But if he's picking strict constructionists, he will have to appoint judges who will commit to overturning McCain-Feingold.

That could be our litmus test: Will you hold President McCain's signature legislation restricting speech unconstitutional?

In 2004, McCain criticized the federal marriage amendment, saying, it was "antithetical in every way to the core philosophy of Republicans." Really? Preventing the redefinition of a 10,000-year-old institution -- marriage, that is, not John McCain -- is part of the core philosophy of being a Republican? I had no idea.

I'm not a lawyer -- oh wait, yes, I am -- but Republicans were proposing to amend the Constitution, a process the Constitution specifically describes.

It's like saying it's antithetical to the core philosophy of Republicans to require presidents to be at least 35 years old. It's in the Constitution! And Republicans -- other than the ones who voted for McCain-Feingold -- support the Constitution. You might say it's part of our core philosophy.

Of course, back in 2004, McCain was considering running on a presidential ticket with John Kerry. Realizing that this would not help his chances to run as a Republican in 2008, when he would be a mere 120 years old, McCain quickly withdrew his interest in being on Kerry's ticket.

But he defended Kerry from the Bush campaign's suggestion that Kerry was not tip-top on national security, saying on the "Today" show: "No, I do not believe that he is, quote, weak on defense." So that was helpful.

McCain also explained to an admiring press corps why he wouldn't want to be anyone's vice president, not even a national defense champion like Kerry, citing the meager constitutional duties of the vice president as: (1) to assume the presidency if the president is incapacitated and (2) "to break a tie vote in the Senate." (At which point several members of the fawning horde were heard to remark, "What is this 'Constitution' you speak of, Senator?")

But McCain conveniently forgot the second of these constitutional duties just a year later when Vice President Cheney was required "to break a tie vote in the Senate" on a matter of utmost importance to liberals: federal judges.

Just one year after McCain had correctly identified one of two jobs of the vice president, he was indignant that a Republican vice president might actually exercise one of them. Better to let a gaggle of 14 Senate malcontents pick the president's judges for him.

As part of the "Gang of 14," McCain hysterically opposed allowing the vice president to break a tie on judicial nominations. Following the Constitution with regard to the role of the vice president, McCain said, "would be a terrible precedent." Yes, if members of Congress actually read the Constitution, they might realize McCain-Feingold is unconstitutional.

If Hillary is elected president, we'll have a four-year disaster, with Republicans ferociously opposing her, followed by Republicans zooming back into power, as we did in 1980 and 1994, and 2000. (I also predict more Oval Office incidents with female interns.)

If McCain is elected president, we'll have a four-year disaster, with the Republicans in Congress co-opted by "our" president, followed by 30 years of Democratic rule.

I'll use the old blahblahblah here. Got things to do.

WE (as in conservatives) needed to coalesce behind a conservative candidate from the get go. Having 5% here, another 20% there, of our group distracted from the ultimate goal of maintaining the Presidency to control the fate of the Supreme Court is a mistake that we will all regret.

The Dems never neuter themselves do they?

We certainly did and we are going to pay the price.

Groups like the Paulies wanted to swing for the fences.

Dude, you said above that Paul only got 4 percent of the vote, now you're blaming those votes for Romney losing? Look at the state-by-state results. The only states where Ron Paul votes would have made a difference were New Hampshire and Missouri. The rest of the states that Paul garnered more than a smattering of votes in were states that Romney won handily! Put your blame on the Hickabee voters instead. He's the real spoiler.
