He tried to be polite.
I wouldn't waste all my time talking around and around about a single issue either.

He lost my vote. Waaa,waaa. The guy is a Ron Paul supporter and wasn't going to support Romney anyway.

Romney is an elitist. He didn't know how to discuss the issue so he ran like a scared cat. The thought of reducing government control over individual citizens gives wackos like Romney the creeps. Notice that his only concern was having enough money for the government to continue functioning at full capacity.

We need to move incrementally to conservatism. Otherwise, the people will flee.

Slowly boil them. Not microwave them.

Romney actually listened to Larsen and engaged him. He didn't run away, he simply tried to be polite to the local hack as he blitzed the local media before the primary. I think Romney did fine while trying to remain awkwardly polite.

Larsen is a jack ass...
And he's been talking about that tax reform idea for as long as I can remember... It's never gotten any traction. Nor will it. Dismissing the economics, simply because of the politics, it'll be called a regressive tax. "Poor people will have to pay a tax on baby food!"

Larsen was a top rated morning talk-show host around here (9-12), but his strength was LOCAL politics, then he overplayed his hand negotiating (I want $1,000,000 a year and syndication) and found himself "retired" from radio. He said he was happy and that he would then be able to focus on his advertising and voice over work. When the industry didn't come beating down his door, he got a job on some low powered crappy local talk station with no listeners. Glenn Beck took over his shift at 970 WFLA and as we all know, has done quite well for himself.

It sounds good in theory, Bryan, but NOT ONE of the other candidates actually want to do this. They are incrementally moving us the other way. Even Bush is more conservative than Romney.

I never heard or listened to this guy before but after hearing him rant for 4 minutes after Romney hung up, it doesn't surprise me he kind of hung himself with his ego.

I'm still waiting for someone to make a play for the media... A.P., NYT, CBS, that will be a 50% mix into politics like Fox tries to do.

With the A.P. running the Country, there is not much hope to get the truth out.

Anyway. Larson sounds like a jackass to me. He offers up his own "tax plan" allegedly researched by Kato, a VAT, which are regressive as hell. Then he gets pissed when Romney chuckles and makes a few comments about Ron Paul? Grow the hell up!

Your insulting comment shows that you really do not understand economic and monetary policy. You really don't think it's possible for the US to go broke, do you?

Bryan, your shallow insults aside, I did NOT hear one substantive thing from the other candidates tonight, except for maybe Huckabee. McCain constantly repeats himself, and Romney's too busy explaining his mistakes. I kept track, and Ron Paul was given opportunity to speak for 3 minutes out of the first hour. THREE MINUTES! That's despicable, and even more egregious was the backhanded manner in which Cooper cut him off in the middle of his answer, falsely promising to give him more time in 2 minutes, and then never delivering. It was very obvious that his GOAL was to censor Paul. He did the same thing to a lesser extent to Huckabee.

I'm sure you and your McRomneyites had a big yuk over that, but it really did irritate a lot of people watching to see such heavy handed treatment. I even sympathized with Huckabee, who rightly complained repeatedly about being ignored and then was promptly mocked by the moderators. It really was a disgusting display. I hereby label it "The McRomney Showcase" since that's all we heard. And I was NOT impressed with anything they had to say.

What I'd like to hear is McCain explain, after his long dissertation about how he's been an intelligence hawk for the last 20 years, how 9/11 happened on his watch. Can't have it both ways. The more I hear McCain speak, and the more he cracks his insulting little jokes, and the more I see him losing his temper in public, the more I think the man is crazy.

Yes, the U.S. can go broke. We are going broke right now. We'll never have the money to pay all that is promised.

Taxation will have to go so high that it will destroy our quality of life and we will become a 2nd rate country.

I don't plan on spending my whole life living in the U.S. anyway. When it goes to sh!t, I'm moving. If my kids want to follow my lead and tag along, fine.

There are excellent parts of the world developing that would be great places to live without the crime and bickering we have here in the U.S.

HillBilly and ObamaBoy can have their way. I don't care.

Paul in unelectable and McCain and Huckabee can't be trusted. That leaves me with Romney. Oh well. I'd still like to have a Republican in office to name the Chief Justices and veto every bill coming out of Congress so that nothing gets 'accomplished'.

That's the best I can hope for so that is what I am going with.

It shows that Paul has had an opportunity over 10 debates to get his message out and he keeps droning and droning over and over with the same line. I can see people tuning him out after his 5th syllable.

The poor guy has to have the worst campaign managers in the world. Either that or he is more of a bull-head than even I think he is.

Support his policies. I think many of them are great. But he has to acknowledge that he is not the go-to guy.

It is like a guy that a starts a company. He may have all the fire and energy to grow the company in the beginning, but seldom is that individual the right person to take it to the next level.

Ron needs to find a fellow conservative that will champion his ideas. A new, fresh-faced messenger is needed.

You just don't get it. I've tried. I'm worn out.

Paul is the wrong guy. Get on the Paulie forums and help your guys find a new spokesman for the cause if you truly care.

If you listened to the debate, you heard Ron Paul say that he wouldn't have appointed Sandra Day O'Connor to the bench because she's not strict enough on the Constitution. Also, with his voting record in the House and his "Dr. No" nickname, nobody would wield the veto pen with as much alacrity as Ron Paul.

You're better off voting for a guy like Paul than for a guy like Romney.

Ron Paul does get cut off. He should show a little spine like Huckabee did.

If Ron Paul were in the Donald Trump Board Room on Apprentice, he'd get fired because Donald would say he didn't stand up for himself.

And no, I'm not going to throw my vote away.

I am not going to nominated a guy like Paul that would get destroyed in a general election and cast huge majorities in the House and Senate that would take decades to once again overcome.

And to be honest, I couldn't stand hearing McCain last night pound and pound and pound of timetables. What a waste of time.

I really don't trust any Republican Govenor of a Democratic state. Exactly how did they get to become Governor if they were truly a conservative in a Dem state?

There's a 96% chance that I and my wife will be staying home this election, along with many other family members.

If McCain wins the nom, Hillary or Obama gets the general. If McCain somehow wins the general, conservatism will be dead in this country, and McCain-Feingold will have been largely responsible.

Great. So after we elect a socialist like Obama or Hillary to the White House, those like minded people will also hand over the House and the Senate on the federal level. We'll also hand over control of the State legislatures and governorships too. That should only take about 15 years to win back.

While we're at it, we can lose on all the big government propositions on the ballot as well.

And then over the next four to eight years, we can turn over the Supreme Court to ACLU attorneys. And even if a strong conservative takes office, he'll never get an Alito past a Democrat majority congress. These are somethings we'll never recover from.

If anything, just leave the Presidential vote blank.
