Its hard to get a perfect match. I wonder if any has a pattern? Then you could re-make the entire cover!

I recently got a quote locally here in upstate N.Y. The guy builds hotrods and does restorations. To redo the two front leather seats on my 1994 black Mark VIII, he wants $800 plus tax. That includes new padding etc. We're a small town though. Perhaps in a metro area with more vendors, you might get a better price. He assured me they would match the rears which look new. My fronts both dry rotted with the Lincoln emblem literally popping out on the drivers seat. He offered to show me the material beforehand to verify it matches the back. He also claims they would even have the Lincoln logo. He's got an excellent rep locally. He would even clean the three seat motor brushes for me. I'm going to use him as funds allow.

Check for a good upholstery shop in your area. They should be able to take the bad covers off, use a seam ripper to remove the stitching and use the old panels as a pattern to make new ones. After they have all the new pieces cut out it's a matter of stitching them together and re-installing on the seat frame. If the foam is deteriorated they should be able to cut new and install at the same time. The only drawback is this will cost some $$ to get done.

Custom interior work is big $$$$, There really is no way around that fact.

I had my 93 drivers seat redone, the bolsters were cracking on bottom and back. This shop uses a look a like leather vinyl. Then he painted to match and added some padding. Cost was $125. It looks great, if you compare it to the pass seat, the drivers leather has more shine than the original, but when looking at the seats from outside, you cant tell the difrerence. Another shop wanted over $300 to just replaced the leather sides.

I have thought of having custom. I would do them on my own, my friend gets leather hides in bulk. But like I said, I thought of it not really sure if I would ever do it.
I guess step one would be to get some really bad seats I could make patterns from. From there is not much harder than making clothes - I think I also have two friends who have embroidery machines.
It must be labor where the shops get ya. Cost of materials per seat, depending on the hide, no more than $75.
