If any one is interested in looking to get parts rechromed. My buddy just started a spray on chrome business. I know this is going to have alot of none believers but this stuff is legit and really works and has a mirror finish. It can also be tinted any color you want form black to pink i mean everything. Doing this is a fraction of the cost of haveing something dipped and rechromed. I had him do the chrome around my windows and I was very very impressed. Since these cars have alot of chrome this could be a very cost effective solution to haveing to buy new parts or get them rechromed. Alot of crotch rockets have been doing this to the body plastic and giving there bikes that all chrome look. spray on chrome is the name of the company they are getting there supplies from they have a video of there product on there website. My buddies business that is offering this is called Unique Chrome their website is not up yet but they are going ahead and getting people lined up for business.

so if you want to save some money on Chroming pm me and I will give you the contact info to get ahold of the business owner.

The GraveDigger monster truck just had the spray chrome treatment done on one of their truck bodies. They did a special on the paint process and it really did look like chrome.

Posted by: Cbecker1994Vlll

I was very impressed with it

I know what you are talking about with the chome paint,i saw it done on zz top's wifes car,it was a cadillac and they did the roof and on the 25th anniversery grave digger. What is the temperture rating on the paint, can you do a engine block or intake manifold, that sorta stuff,is the paint from house of colors

is it the Alsa Corp Chroma-paint system?

Posted by: ponytail john

Interesting to know how long it lasts before peeling, fading, etc. It would be great if it works.

Im very curious to see how it turns out. I had an awesome result with the rattle can, and I have xenon low's and highs.

Next is to figure out how to keep the lows on when highs come on to avoid restrikes.

Fortunately that homework has been done, long ago. I dont have the tech file on hand, but a search should bring it up. I did it to my 96 years ago. All you do it jump two wires together, its REALLY easy.

Chorm is a type of reflective material that has 100% of the qualities of chrome, the only difference is that it is intended to be used on lincolns and other fine vehicles.

My apologies...I thought there was a "typo" involved.

Would you remember if it was here or on MarkViii.org to narrow my search? I do remember about changing a pinout in the column jsut not sure which ones.

Sorry for the off topic :-P

Pins 13 + 15 need to be jumped together on the multifunction switch, mafioso. PM sent also. (twice by accident - DOH!)

I've got an RPG-7 I brought home from iraq... I'd like the tube done in black chrome and the warhead done in standard chrome. How much?

(this is a heat-less process right? Could be a problem otherwise)

Posted by: 93' Blue on blue

Lol. You got an RPG 7? I had one of those... Until it got took off me and melted, along with various types of AK 47. (all found in an abandoned bunker in Al Amara) We had strict rules about what we could bring back - no war trophies, had to submit bayonets, helmets etc. - customs searches!

Posted by: Frat-man-du

Boy, times sure have changed! Hell back in the day, if you could carry it, you could take it home, bodies excluded...

Posted by: 93' Blue on blue

I was in the Brit army - no guns or any such thing allowed back. Period. If caught - jail time! Maybe you guys still get it easier? I dunno...

Posted by: NateRW21

I'm just playin... purely comical. I have no desire to serve the 20 years of forced sodomy (prison) for bringing back an explosive device!

I just kept it to simple, harmless stuff... A friend of mine did bring back two 40mm grenade rounds (one High Explosive Dual Purpose, one white star-cluster). Accidental though; several months later, emptying bags of gear he hadn't needed till then, they both fell out of his web gear.

Whats up with this thread? Can I get my grill rechromed? Have any pics of the results? How much and what is the process used ?

Posted by: Cbecker1994Vlll

temporary website is up, unique-chroming.com there is a gallery showing a small sample of what it looks like on a finished product.
