spring conversion ?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Well i'm considering getting a semi-used lowering kit. Problem is that it was in a accident and it messed up the front left wheel. I guess the bj's and tierods got messes up. The front left has been down further than the rest of the car for acouple months.

Question is....Since its sat like that would the strut/spring be worn to the level that it's at now? If i put it on my car would it sag aswell?

I know im being a cheapass and not buying a new one so please leave all that out of this thread please.

I personally wouldn't put suspension components in my car that came from a wreck, too much rides on the suspension functioning properly. If you really really want to be cheap go to a junkyard and buy some Thunderbird coils.

I would check it out before you buy it,it might be good, are your bags leaking

I would never use used ball joints or control arms. They don't cost that much to replace.

A good used air bag from someone who you trust would be OK...

Conversion Kits from American Air Suspension would be my suggestion if you want to convert.

Remember this if you buy used you will get used. They will give you the 3 block warrenty.

If you buy used buy from someone you trust. I'm sure that there would be someone on this site who may have a good used set for you. Not that everyone on this site can be trusted but the majority of LvC members are trustworthy...

Not leaking. However ,the fronts are binding up and you feel every nook and cranny on the road. Rides like crap, Very stiff. They are the originals i beleive and have 126k on em.

I don't want his bj's ect.

My question was since the accident "blew out" his front left suspension (bj's, tierods) and the front left was lower than the rest of the car would the coil spring "settle to that height"since it sat in that position for acouple months . Kind of like when 1 airbag leaks and sits there for awhile but in a coil/strut kind of way.

You really need to do a visual on it,try bouncing on the front end and seeing if that levels it or have him do it.maybe the internal strut is leaking fluid making the spring compress more.can be a bent a arm or the frame of the car is tweaked.does he have all around conversion on the suspension,if not the rear bags maybe throwing it off or rear componets.

I bought a conversion kit from suspension alternatives.com for $410, there ph# is 866-597-2397. That's for all 4 wheels.
