Aviator Tail Lamps

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

This is a bit embarassing but I cannot figure out how to remove the tail lamps from my wife's Aviator. She has a burned out brake light bulb and the lamp assembly needs to come out to replace the bulb. I found the two screws inside the tail gate but there is something else holding it in that I cannot see or feel. Rather than break it, I thought I would ask for some sage advice.

Anybody?? Thanks in advance...

I've had them off before. I needed to remove them first to get to the screws holding the rear bumper (which is underneath the light assenbly). I don't remember exactly but it wasen't rocket science. After removing the screws (don't remember how many), the really tricky part was to unwedge them. They are wedged in really well with a couple of clips. You have to pry them out at a certain angle. I remember when I got the first one out I graced the side because it required so much force. Sorry but that's all I remember.
