Shouldn't matter if its parked on a slope or not. Unless its upside down the pump will pick up oil and circulate it. Sounds like the anti-drain back valve in the oil filter might be shot and is allowing the oil to drain out of the passages in the block overnight. Try changing the filter and see if it still does it.

You aren't using like SAE 50 oil or something are you?!?! Does it do this if you were to shut it off (once the knocking is gone) and immediately restart? Does it do this after an hour? I'd say if it only does it after it's been sitting for a while, caddy would be on the money. If it does it when running, shut down and immediately starting, you've got other problems. |
