new "night rider" tv show?

You guys see the new night rider car? NBC is going to use a stang, so they say.

Yes heard about it a few weeks ago on E. The car should be preety cool as KITT. Its never been so fast!! LOL!! K.I.T.T.K.R!!!!!!

My only problem is those hideous RICER wheels. They look terrbile and totally rice out the car.

They should have left these wheels on it in the rendering.

I hope the red bar scans across like the old KIT. I don't see where it will on the new car? They better have that on there.

Better yet....who will play Michael Knight? And will Mr. Feeney be the voice of KIT again!?!?!

The heck with the wheels! What about the picnic table on the trunk? There's plenty of better and fast looking spoilers for the new Mustang.

I am sure that wing will be doing some "transforming" and that is why it's that shape and what appears to be a stacked setup.

Also, I'm pretty sure those are the original GT500 KR wheels with black paint. The Torq-Thrust wheels would've looked better though. Wonder how many GT500's they're going to ruin making this show...

I read on the Knight Riders forums that the chosen car hasnt been confirmed yet. Its between a Mustang, a new Acura and the 09 Camaro at the moment. I personally do not think a 'stang to be right for the part. KITT is supposed to be a futuristic car - a car of tomorrow, not a car that is modelled on something nostalgic from the 'old days' Plus, Mustangs are common. At least when the 82 Firebird came out it was like nothing before and looked very futuristic in comparison to those other 'boxy' cars of the 80s. IMO the 80s Firbird is still a beautiful looking car, much better looking than a Mustang.

I do not think the mustang fits with the theme of KITT. And I really hate the double spoiler on the back

I just read the official NBC press release on www.knightrideronline.com It's confirmed that K.I.T.T. will be played by a Shelby GT500KR. They have an agreement with Ford to provide the cars. David Hasselhoff will Guest Star as Michael Knight. Will Arnett will play K.I.T.T. Also, it's only a 2 hour movie to be aired February 17th 2008 at 9pm eastern time.

Yeah, it has to have the "turbo" button. Wouldn't be k.i.t.t. without it.

You mean "turbo boost"? All that button really did was make the car jump over things. lol

It had turbo boost to jump over/into things, and super pursuit mode which made it into a super fast car and needed flaps to slow it down.

They should have Samuel L. Jackson do the voice of k.i.t.t. I can see it now....

It was a little weak. What about the Edge keeping up while they were racing through the mountains? Must be one hell of a cross over.

BIG TIME Ford sponsorship. So much so that the original voice for KITT had to leave the show and his parts were all redubbed. Why? Because he's associated as the voice in the GM commercials.

I like how the only thing other than a Ford product was that older Denali looking things with rims, a billet grille, and euro tails haha. They make all the Fords nice and bastardize the only GM in the show.

That Stang is nice though.

lololol, i haven't watched it yet, its recorded, and so far at work, Ive heard that its all ford except for a gm that gets wrecked, and also heard about the edge vs the Shelby. my manager has a edge for a demo and there is a gt500 in the show room, so I'm trying to talk him into letting us race them lol who knows it could be the edge "sport" with no performance upgrades, just looks

During the bad guys search through the shop, they did a quick view across an old 350 tpi gm. A little props to the old kitt I guess.

A little cheesy, but not too bad. My wife thought it was pretty good. That spoiler does change, but with all the nice designs out there its a poor choice. That mountain road chase .....

My suburban could get away quicker. Oh well....I do wish my car had self repairing nano-tech body panels.

Why the old TPI engine laying around? The origional Night Rider came out in 1982. TPI was not availible until 1985. I liked the movie & I will watch every episode if it becomes a series.

Yes, there were Ford's everywhere, Look at Transformers though, GM's everywhere! I would personally like to see the old KITT & the new KITT together & see some other muscle cars as well.

Yep...and the new voice is....Val Kilmer! Iceman himself!!

Everyone seems to be givin this show crap, but have you seen the pilot of the original show? The only redeeming quality was KITT! This pilot was leaps and bounds above the original.

As to the new KITT, while I love the new direction, going with a Mustang that is sick, part of the reason I bought my Mark is because I grew up watching Knight Rider and the Mark looked similar; sleek and futuristic. Even the Mark dash looks kinda like an updated version of the dash in the original KITT (cockpit-like).

finally watched it tonight (so im lazy) but i dont think it was too bad, the double decker wing looks like a picnic table and a bench seat, but id watch it again, and now knowing thats "the iceman" then that adds another plus lolol
