Traction control questions??

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

This is my first winter with my 1998. I was wondering in the snow should there be a grinding noise when the traction control kicks in???? Almost like the rotor kicks a little and hits the pads.

yep thats normal.

Its normal, it works awesome to some extent. ( JUST A TIP ) Though when I climbed a snowy hill, it was best to shut the TC off & shift to 1st gear. The traction control sucks when climbing a steep hill, say a driveway. It doesn't let the engine rev up & I couldn't even climb my driveway. It stayed there bobbling & grinding slowly. But once the TC was off, that SOB just dug it's way up, where no Town Car or LC could go.

Wow thats normal. It sounds terrible. LOL. I thought I was messing something up. Good to know I'm not. I've been just shutting it off. LOL
