big break conversion question...

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: devilchild

my old 93 had a 13" rotor and bigger caliper conversion on the front.. when i looked at it closely it said Ford Motorsport..or at least im 90% sure thats what it said..its been a while.. either way it definitely said Ford on them..

could they have been cobra brakes??..or just an upgraded brake system>??

is this something available through your dealership or do i have to find some performance company to get the conversion...??

if you have them.. do you have fronts and rears??

Hi Devil

They are most likely the cobra calipers. The calipers sell as a set from for racing. Do they say cobra on them??? If you like check out this link and the ford racing site to see if they look like these..... http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=6011

then check out the other brakes on this web site and let me know.

they looked totally different.. they were painted or powder coated red ..which looked factory... ill try to find the guy i sold the car to and get a pic of them.. and the only thing i remember being written on them was ford motorsport..

are these it???

They do not make the "motorsport" anymore...these replaced them.

nope... totally different.. damn it !!

will the cobra brakes work??.. different bolt pattern.. or would the cobra conversion work and i would need to find the cross drilled / slotted rotors for my car seperate??

Posted by: mrzeee

well supposidly the cobra brakes work on the gen 1's but I am not 100% sure about that. I do know that the kit car guys use the mark rotors on their cars with cobra calipers but I really am not sure about the other way around.

and of course the equal set for the rear... i know i would have to get 13" rotors ..

That picture is for the rears in that link. The black is really just metal color. The red is the anniversary edition.

M2320A= FRT AND REAR SET OF RED CALIPERS $634.80
M2320AF= FRT SET OF RED CALIPERS $454.80
M2320C= FRT SET BLACK CALIPERS $358.80
M2320R= REAR SET RED CALIPERS $204.00
M2320CR= REAR SET BLACK CALIPERS $214.80
This is your LVC cost plus ups. All are in stock ready to ship.

As I ststed befor I am not sure that they bolt right up without some mod. You will have to check the LVC site for that info.
