hi all
the tranny in my 88 mark vii lsc died and i went to the dealer ship for a new one, they put in a 1984 crown vic aod and it seems slower and wont shift like the old one. are the raitios different ???

Posted by: JoshMcMadMac

No, but the TV cable may not be set properly, or with a brass grommet. Does it shift into OD at somewhere around 40mph?

Posted by: bignfuzzy

all parts are brand new and it goes into od at around 30 mph its just over all slow compaired to dads 86 mark vii lsc and our 1989 parts mark vii lsc

The T.V. cable is not adjusted properly. You should not be going into OD that early. I would recommend taking it back to the shop, and insisting that they give the entire transmission a once-over. If they can't properly adjust one cable, what else did they overlook?

the dealership said its working properly as it should (also their answer was it's an old car why waste your money on it)
i took your advice and relayed your instructions and was laughed at
now it's war (insert evil laugh) thank you for your help
