ok first off, 2000 v8. ok my car has fallen to the usual coil problems but also does something that i have not seen anyone talk about. i was reading a while back about a tsb for random misfire at high rpm, and the fix was reflashin the pcm which i still havent gotten my hands on the thing to do it yet. sorry im rambling.

so heres the problem. at anytime i can recreate this if i hold the car in a gear and bring it above 3k and like stay above 3k the car will just drop a cylinder for like 5 mins or so then start running normally again. like i said i can keep doin it all day long when ever i want it does it every time... i dont think its coil related. i have junk coils i know that. ive been fightin off the 2 and 8 misfire for about 4 months now and still losing the battle.

yeah so before you tell me to put 8 coils in my car let me say that i dont have 450 bucks to buy them. im just really curious about this other misfire and its not fuel i have no injector problems according to fords handy dandy device.

and talkin about the usual coil problem, yeah ive put about 8 in it over the last year or so still wont go away and im ready to just sell the f-ing thing.

My friend with his 02 V8 had a similar problem and when he changed his plugs, he said it went away. Mine was doing it at the track at higher RPMs in 4th the other night. I'm going to try the plugs and see if that cures it.

May be the wiring harness for a coil.

thanks for she replies i changed all the plugs with the last 2 coils it didnt cure my problem. and i have also thinking about a wiring issue and as an electrician i did look over the wires that i could see and didnt see an issue but sure could possibly be somewhere else in a harness.

and 160 on ebay? were these brand new coils? my buddy works at a dealear and can get them to me for 35 a piece
