LOL. No, that thing is under wraps, sleeping, and waiting for lung surgery. He may miss the rest of the season and be put on the disabled list.

I was actually thinking the white one is all that is needed to get the job done. Stock vs stock or bottle vs bottle. Either way, the caddy goes down.

This is LvC after all. Need a little tension.

Not that you would ever stir the pot LOL

So what do you guess your PCM tune will knock off that time?

I driven in a bunch of STS and they were pretty strong even off the line (3.71 gears) and really good 30-70. Over that, breathing starts to become an issue.

BTW, Red Lights are for porno districts.

The other guy must have locked up the brakes crossing the line.

I was not driving the DHS, but he was trying a new launch style. Hmm he missed.

Coming up quick guys. Get the cars ready.

Posted by: chickenviii

i did, i did!!!
just put in my non rotten used oil pan friday, and man i gotta say it was easy as hell......next time i gotta do a starter on a markviii/tbird im droppin the k-member, in one hour i had the old pan in my hands (of course a hoist helps) cleaned the hell out of the k-member (10 years 148k worth of oil changes made a big mess) swapped the oil filter adapter gasket, changed my foggy driver side headlight housing ahhhhhhhhh better, not new but much better. oh and heres some pics of the bottom end, i figured there would be some gunk at 148k but looks like a eng with 10k, sorry camera phone pics

also the thundermark now has 2 markviii rear control arms, and even all the washers so the bushing sleeves dont eat the aluminum, just need to align it

Posted by: lincoln_lurker

that does look good for that many miles chicken... i need to get under mine soon and change the trans pan gasket, oil pan gasket and accumulator seal.....not much fun on a fwd tho....

Posted by: papa bear

I will be getting mine ready this weekend. Can't wait

Posted by: mespock

you mean I need to wash my car... LOL

LOL. You know, oil change or whatever. Get those heavy wheels off. I'm fine tuning a new tune, hope to get it perfected by then. The tune I use now will still be fine though if not...good enough to kill a few Marks.

Posted by: mespock

Well we'll see how things go...

Posted by: chickenviii

you bringing both Lincolns or just the ls? 02asdfghjkl

Still debating that. I guess that will depend if the wife is going first, think she is, and if I feel like swapping wheels and doing a oil change. Was thinking about it today, it really needs some exercize. Also it would be fun to start puttin down some times with it to improve.

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

Hopefully the weather will be nice. It's suppose to be around 50 today and in the 60's in the beginning of next week.

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

New tuner....new tunes thanks to Rob (ILLS). Car is really screaming...I should have it all dialed in no problem.

I just realized the other day I'll need a helmet

Hey Jason I am glad you liked the new tunes. From your description over the phone it sounds like the car sure is stronger. I want to see your car rip it up on the track here soon. If you end up going Sunday I still might be in. I miiiiiight take the TurboLS too though I will probably still be on the low boost setting.

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

Hey folks, Rob and I will be there tommorrow 1:00ish if anyone wants to come.

Can't wait till next week to run this thing.

Everyone still in for the 13th???

Posted by: MonsterMark

There were 400 cars there today.

They let the bikes run twice before the 2nd run of cars. Plus the a-holes that trailer their Novas and crap always get preferential treatment.

Spent 2 hours in line to make 1st run. Chatted it up with the Viper dude from ILL-e-NOY-me. Couple of Stangs near in line also.

10 cars before I ran, TransAm does a burnout and drops oil all over the track. 1/2 hour delay. Then I'm 2 away and some guy breaks halfway down.

I don't think the ricers will be there tomorrow but I would get there as early as possible, especially if it is nice out if you want to get more than 1-2 runs in.

So did you get to run? How'd you do?

They had just cleaned up the track and hadn't put any prep down. The Viper spun like crazy, the Stang spun like crazy. I spun and got out of it. It wasn't worth it going sideways. Coasted down the track and gave the finger to the timer on the way back.

Somebody bring some slicks tomorrow for stang 5 bolt pattern and I might show.

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

Openning day is crazy I know but I want to get a pass in.

Last year I got there, got to about 15-20 cars away in 1 hour or so. Then it started to rain. They had 4 lanes open for normal racers, I wass in the second closest to the field...trapped, couldn't even leave. Sat there 2 hours for it to stop to get my 1 run. Left the TC on ruined the run and left...

Posted by: chickenviii

that sounds like when i went to Byron last year, we went on a day that a Subaru club went so there was 80 of them and they would sneak back in line and re-run so they would run 160 times then i would get 1 pass then another 2 hour wait.
and 02asdfghjkl; the wife says your woman needs to come (she dont wanna be alone lol)

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

Track conditions sucked pretty bad. 1/4 throttle I would break loose spinning no joke and then its like....your kinding, smash to the floor. I couldn't even get close to my 60' times with stock gears. I know it just wasn't me as I KILLED 2 late 90s Camaros one trapped 103@15.5??? and I was at least 10 cars ahead of him, the other costed down the track to a whopping 66mph. I think Bryan gave up after his first run. Lets hope its better next week, still fun to get out there and run again though. Looking foward to next week. I may mount some fatter tires I have laying around on to help the cause. I know its not just now having 4.10s, I can stand on it on any given street and barely spin...unless forced.

nice rich, lol
lets just hope they change the forcast..............
hey organizers? is there a club discount?

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

I saw the forecast too and they are calling for rain and snow. I will check on the club discount but if it is I would guess that it would have to be a large group.

Posted by: chickenviii

i went with my buddy and his Bonneville club and only 8 ran and we only paid $15 each to race

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

Sounds like a plan chicken. I wonder if we have to register before hand or just show up and tell them we are a club?

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

I wasn't really thinking of even telling them we're a club. Not sure if any discounts would apply. Being only the second weekend and Ford Fun day can't imagine they would but who knows.

As it sits right now I have a customer set up to do a contract that day, just kinda happened but I'm going to work to reschedule it.

Posted by: chickenviii

who ever set it up called and said that we were coming and we just said it at the gate, we even got trophies!! (i took second, got beat by a 13 sec sc bonne) i doubt GLD would have trophies but a discount would be cool

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

I'll try to call tommorrow but they don't really answer when not open, probably better to try on Saturday.

Posted by: chickenviii

you better show up 02asdfghjkl; we most likely make breakfast but i will be at the track
on a side note project thundermark is ready and will be there as long as it dont snow

If I can't reschedule it entirely I'll push it back far into the day. It will be cool to meet Midwest.

Posted by: mespock

I have bad news about sunday. Because of the weather they changed the date of my Daughter's only home outdoor meet to Sunday.

Sorry but I have to chose my family over the LvC family... Weather Sux...

I was planning on meeting up with Chicken on the way and having a fun time. Unless things with her meet change maybe.. we'll see

Jason and Patrick here's your chance to take this bull by the horns and make it good.

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

Hopefully the weather will work for us or we may have to reschedule it since so many things are coming up. I'll be watching the weather closely.

Question: Do they keep the track open even during bad weather?

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

Well how many want to push it off????

Posted by: mespock

This was my best weekend... I'm not free now for a while. Track meets are further away for the next 3 weeks and I also have a wedding in the beginning of May.

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

The weather does look like a pretty good chance of suckin.

Is this winter ever going to end.

I haven't rescheduled my appt yet. No need to if this is going to get rescheduled.

Posted by: 94m5

I'm open for anything guys........Rich, you have my Cell# Gimme a call and let me know either way. I'll be on the road @ 11:00 PM thursday night for Illinois.

If I don't go up there I'm gonna plan other things with friends and family.

Mike

Posted by: k9t8m

Has anyone looked at the weather situation? I just looked and it says rain and snow mix and hight ov 37. What the plan, or backup plan?

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

Yes we're discussing the weather now.

If you look at the schedule it starts getting busy there. You don't want to go on a big event weekend as we will all just be sitting in the staging lanes waiting for our few passes. Those days aren't worth racing just watching, but I want everyone to get alot of runs in so thoses weekends are out.

June 8th to me looks like a good weekend, nothing going on there.

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

I'm down either way it goes. Just wanted to get a backup plan because the weather doesn't look like it's going to play nice.

I sure wish "Spring" wuz here.

Posted by: mespock

I really feel bad about not being able to make the meet.. Love Midwest Spring Weather...

http://www.uwplatt.edu/athletics/tra...wpinvite08.htm

Posted by: k9t8m

June 8th is during Carlisle

Posted by: Dmaup

So what's going on here? Are we having the meet or not? It's a decent drive for me and I don't wanna be the only fool there.

Posted by: lincoln_lurker

for how many times they change the chances of it it doesn't sound like it can be decided yet, wait another night maybe then if it's still calling for snow then pull the plug and maybe we can reschedule sometime....gotta love the midwest

Posted by: mespock

Weather here right now sux... big t-storms today through Friday. Right now looks like a mix is coming... Saturday they are saying snow. Sunday... in the 50's partly sunny... Maybe it will work it's way out.

Stay tuned to LvC for further Track Weather Coverage LOL...

We'll let everyone know on Friday what's up. It will give the weather people time to get things screwed up.
Jason and Patrick... you have the ball on this... as this was your hope for a meet at the track. Jason you know the track better than most if you feel that they will close the track due to weather and if you feel it's too risky for guys to travel hours to come to just have to turn around then let us know. Same with you Patrick. We'll find another time to get this done. If spring doesn't work there is always Fall for a good track day.

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

^^^ Well said. I've never ben to the track so I have no idea what to expect as far as when the weather turns bad. We'll stay tuned to the weather and l belive Friday would be a good deadline to let everyone know exactly what's going on.

Posted by: 93hotrodlincoln

Lets do something later when the weather is warm. This winter has to end some day... I saw snow for Saturday.

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

It is going to be cold this weekend for a fact. Here is the latest forcast but things still could change...

Posted by: mespock

Well the cold should help out the times. It's the rain or snow.. And what Lake Michigan has to offer.

That Low pressure sytem is screwing everything up. Slow moving and by tomorrow should be on top of WI and by Sunday pulling things to the back of the low.

Last year I planned a Motorcycle meet with midwest members of my Motorcycle forum. A low moved in and camped right on top of us it put heavy rain from Boscobel to Madison and we were to meet in Dodgeville right in the middle. I felt bad for the guys who had come up the night before and camped.

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

I'm still showing snow in the forecast so far. I will send Jason a pm and see what he thinks.

Posted by: ILLS

If there is ANY precipitation more than a very light sprinkle then the track will close. Even if that very light sprinkle occurs for more than about 5 minutes then they will close also. It is too much of a safety issue for them to remain open with slick tracks when they have 1,000+ hp cars screaming down the 1/4. It looks like a good chance of rain/snow Saturday and if it is real cloudy then that might not dry up in time for Sunday. Sunday looks like 30% chance of precipitation and will be overcast by the time the track opens which would make for a gloomy track day. Just my thoughts, but it would probably be best to push this event back to a time that will allow for nicer weather.

Posted by: 93hotrodlincoln

They will reschedule the Ford day if it is rained out.

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

From everyone who visits there often opinions, let's go ahead and reschedule the event for a better day. It's not like we all didn't try, mother nature didn't want to play right this time. I'd rather go ahead and call it for the simple fact that some people were going to be traveling from afar and need to know in advance of what the plan is. I want to personally apologize for it falling through but I feel we could still have a few meets at the track before our "official" meet.

Any ideas? Comments? Suggestions?

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

Probably the best idea. They won't call it till that day anyway and I doubt everyone wanted to drive there with the chance to just go home. 38-40 degree weather isn't the best weather to hang out anyway. We would all be in our cars keeping warm.

I'm open to a new date. I mentioned the June 8th as there is nothing going on that weekend there.

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

June 8th sounds good to me. Who else would like to reschedule for that date? If not that date, though out some good dates.

Just pick the date if you set the date they will come. LOL... I've found that by just setting the date makes it a lot easier. Jason and Patrick if June 8th is good for you then set it as you two will be the core of what's happening. Those who can make it will come. We might lose a few but we can still salvage the meet. Just let me know and I'll put it on the calender and make a sign up for the meet.

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

June 8th it is. Should be warm by then for sure.

Posted by: k9t8m

. Ill be in PA that weekend. Maybe I will see you guys at the beach party instead.

Posted by: NorthstarAJ

I am thinking about taking the DHS down on Sunday

I know how to stay warm!

Posted by: NorthstarAJ

I can't take this to the track, but it feels better

Posted by: ms chickenviii

Chickenviii and Ms Chickenviii agree June 8th it is.

Posted by: PatrickSimmons

All we need is a new signin sheet

Posted by: ILLS

It is official, you guys are fired from picking the dates. I have to travel that damn weekend too! I will be gone for two weeks then. Oh well, Maine will not be too bad that time of year.

Posted by: mespock

I'll start a sign up page shortly

Posted by: mespock

Make Up date Sign Up

Here we go

Posted by: 93hotrodlincoln

I will be there with my V8 Ranger.

Posted by: chickenviii

it figures, i was actually ready

Posted by: mespock

Hmmmm.... nice and Sunny hear today... temps to be in the 40's....

Granted I'm going to my daughter's rescheduled track meet but someone must have pissed Mother Nature off so that she phucked with us.

Posted by: chickenviii

i know, it looks beautiful outside now....... that is how it was when midwestbird and i went for a bird meet back in 05, called for rain the entire week but we went anyways and it was overcast but no rain, and the track was empty~ish only 4-6 cars in line at a time
(rich what you doing?)

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

They are closed, just checked. Have been all weekend.

Typically in the fall if its not 40 out for the day they aren't openning. Wasn't sure if that was the same in spring and with the Ford Fun Day going on. With the cold and amount of rain they have had the past week the track is closed is there exact reason they gave. This is the first day it hasn't rained here since like Tuesday. If you have ever been to GLD its kinda in the farm land area and floods pretty easy. If I had to guess part of the grounds is under water.

Posted by: chickenviii

good to know cuz i was getting tempted to run up there, but now i know im not missing anything

It was pretty cloudy early on but cleared up as the day went. I knew rain wasn't the only thing that would close the track though. I've been there after a good rain and the entrance turns into a pond area. I willing to bet they had alot of standing water all over the place or they would have been open even with the cold possibly.
